As said really, currently i have stock wheels on the car, Id like to get some new wheels.

Will i have any problems with them rubbing, Or is there something i should look out for when buying them.

May sound a stupid question but i dont have a clue on wheels and dont want to find out after ive bought them.

An increase in wheel diameter doesn't really cause any problems at all, unless it's to a ridiculous size.

When you go for a larger diameter wheel you try to keep the tyre diameter the same, so with larger wheels the sidewall height of the tyre reduces.

Like it's already been said by Westy882, the width and offsets are the important factors.

Also, clearances of the wheel over the front brake caliper has to be considered depending on which brakes you have.

18's and 19's fit fine but as said the important part is the width and the offset and if they clear your brake calipers.

Also it could make a differance if your car is lowered

Speak to Ibrar at Speedwells, he's not too far from you and can supply you with wheels that

fit or just give you the info you need

I've got 20's on mine, it was only the rears that needed a little arch work but only cos i think tyre stretch looks sh!t. It was more just incase i went over a massive bump and the rim hit the arch than it scrubbing all the time.

As mention earlier, offset is the key word... but you can play i bit with tyre width if its really close. Different tyre brands are not actually all same width (!). For example yokohama compared to cheap chinese brands.

My previous wheels (18") was near maximum with stock arches, front was 9" ET40 245/40, rear 10" ET38 275/35 with no rub, yokohama tyres (those are quite wide).

lowering your car will play a big part in what your get away with. if i have people in the back and corner too fast my 265 rears scrub slightly. but thats due to being lowered so much, it probably reduces performance after 35mm but i like the low look so its all about personal taste.
