Havard
That car would be beuatiful with a stock spoiler..!!
dude
Its quite simple as others have said if you drive fast leave it on, I drove a single car the other day as we had to finish mapping on a circuit at 140 +++ it felt very nervous, we tried the no spoiler thing on my silver car and at 200 mph it was extremley dangerous, put the spoiler back on and 211 felt just fine. Something that surprised me was when we had a Evo in that had a TRD type rear spoiler in carbon that someone had jumped on and snapped the blade, you could still lean on it and it would not deform, you had to put a lot of weight on it to get it to fold up a couple of inches, when I drove to the body shop I looked in the rear view mirror and on a dual carriageway at 70 mph it was almost touching the bootlid !!! The spoiler was put there for a reason.
Tyson
It's got nothing to do with braking. The spoiler puts down 66 lbs of downforce @ 90 mph (Toyotas own numbers) which equals to absolutly nothing at low MPH but quite alot at very high speeds. I put my own back on each time I go through Germany. 120MPH+ in long sweepers is where the first generation of Audi TTs suddenly threw their rear end. I'm not saying the supra will to the same without the spoiler, but I won't be the one finding out. So, to the OP: If you do any VERY high speed driving, leave it on. If not, your husband (and you) will not be in any danger from removing it. http://mkiv.com/specifications/product_Information_book_93/tech_shop/sep20_41.jpg Very good info there !! Do you have any on the active front spoiler?
bodilx6
Active spoiler is there for exactly the same reason. I havent seen any official numbers by toyota but again, if you are driving fast, you will feel the car getting "light" i the steering without spoiler or a lip. Quite easy to test though. Go on the motorway with the "auto off" switched on and have a feel.
Guest Supra_boy
Not really a fan of Supras without spoilers unless ofcourse like someone has said, it has a wide ass kit on it and wheels.
