Yea im suprised how cheap the e46 m3 is now. Would be practical for my 2 kids and the kinda car i could drive all year if i wanted. Plus id end up with a few grand change in my bank .... But .... It wont be the same as my supra!!!!

For a crap driver like me I find that I drive faster around corners with the M3, its feels really planted and just grips and grips. The SMG in auto mode work just as well as my auto box in the supra, and then the fun starts at night with the paddle shift :) But the main benefit is really the comfort of sitting position and getting in and out of the car for both driver, passenger and the baby in the rear seat. I do miss the turbo and straight line acceleration tho :( one day I will be back with a single supra :)

The Supra is the ultimate sub 20k performance car, easily IMO

Others;

- Nissan R33 GTR

- C5 'vette

- Exige

- Aristo

- BMW M Coupe (z3 coupe)

- Audi RS2 (as standard, it will get to 30 faster than a Mclaren F1!)

- Mercedes CL

- Jag XJR / XKR

- Any Cosworth

- 2003/2004 Ford SVT Mustang 'Terminator' (probably the only car that is more tuneable than the Supra)

- Monaro

M3 is nice although I heard there's gonna be traction problems in the snow (as with all RWD cars I guess). Strange thing is that I've heard a few E46 M3 owners saying how underpowered the car feels though. Seen a white E90 M3 today must say it looks handsome. Just don't understand why only the 2011+ models have white angel eyes though.

Rather than going for nutty performance, go for more practicality, u got the supra! U don't need anything too lairy. Remember that thread Jamie had for a car for his wife? Practical n fast? Vw r32 or rs fords, get your kids n shopping about comfortably yet have a laugh if u decide all of a sudden your 10 years old. Cheaper to run and insure and trust 5-10k is max u will need, spend the rest on the sup :D

As he said earlier, he needs to sell the Supra to get the budget!

Exactly dude ;)

why not look at the 335i (twin turbo) as you still have that turbo power then apparently very very fast once remapped

i actually surprised noone has mentioned the 335i i think much better then a m3, and is a newer car can get one for around 14k

Same with the 335d. Once moving, it's quicker and uses about 2/3rds of the fuel!

335d would be even better if you dont mind low revving, the 335d is definitely a great car for the fuel and speed combined

proberly be more reliable then the petrol engines as bmw aint the most reliable manufacturer

Looks like what'd happen if an American styling shop got hold of it :(

Are they that unreliable still? Quote from autotrader: "Jaguar scores well in ownership surveys these days, and the XKR convertible appears to be built impeccably, using high quality materials." I ask because I've looked into jags a few times and thought they'd left the bad rep behind on the more modern (2000+) cars.

Seems like a lot of car for the money, looks stunning except for the interior. I'd go for it if the build documentation checks out!

Hmm, its a 1999 model, not so sure on the reliability of those.

If you have to spend more than £2k on the new car than what you get for your Supra, you should just get a 6 speed.

Seems a shame to sell the Supra after all the work you've had done, to get something else.

Out of interest, how much would you want for your Supra, should you to sell it?

To be honest J its a real tricky one to price. Its had 10's of thousands spent on it and has been hand built every part of ut by the best Supra builder out there imo (Lee).

I know as its a big single auto the market will be smaller than if it was manual, but for me that was a massive plus :)

As i say i doubt i will sell as everytime i look at it or drive it im in love with it!! Id want around £23k minimum for it mate and although thats fairly top end money, i feel its worth every penny (by the way 'if' anyone has any opinions on if thats too much or too little dont clutter up this thread with it, feel free to pm me)

My boss has the exact same car! With loads of upgrades, Putting out well over 400bhp and does sound better than his other brand new XKR 5.0 (even with my modified straight through exhaust!) Its spotless too. He is thinking about selling it if your interested. Its just turned 30k on the clock, got one off piano black dash, with one off white and black leather interior, miltek stainless system, 20" wheels, upgrade large brakes, upgraded supercharger, remapped etc.. I can have a word if you like?

Also, to put it into perspective, he also has a hardtop, 18 months old, with every option apart from the thingy-me-jig cruise control. In black, 6k miles on it. He was offered 40k for it against a new Aston. So a slightly older aluminium one may well be in budget.
