jast
I reported the blue smoke syndrome about 2 weeks ago, today when driving the supe from cold the following happened, again from starting a puff of blew oily smoke rose from the rear, the when driving the turbo whistle seems louder. Also when kaining in and releasing the throttle the slight whhooosshh sounds seems to have also got louder???? Another thing Ive noticed is a sort of whining sort of WHHHOOOOOO noise in the back ground, possibly from the wheel???? HELP , Please advise, how much money could this cost, whats gone wrong etc, any advice would be appreciated. It may just be me being paranoid, I hope. Also when revving the car i notice that in the engine bay only one of the throttle cable pulls, is this normal??? Should they both pull together??? Sorry for being a thicko? Scooter
I believe the second cable is the cruise control = no problems All the rest is a bit out of my league & possibly/probably cause for concern

Adam_SG
I would recommend taking it to get looked at, my turbos are making a chugging noise on spool up which i am going to take to Leon as he's fairly local, where are you based cause there are a few highly recommended mechanics on this board that seem very happy to help. I personally wouldn't drive it until its been seen cause you dont want to cause any more damage if there is a problem Hope its something minor. Ad. Need4Speed
There's a good section on mkiv.com in tech articles. If you go to recorded mechanical problems there's a .wav file which sounds (unfortunately) like you describe your problem. Have a listen - it's called "death whine". Hopefully yours doesn't sound like this.

Willson
If you go to mkiv.com select tech articles and scroll down to ................"documented / recorded mechanical problems" about half way down the list just before "problem solvers", you should see it.
