DodgyRog
I intend to lower the front of my Supra 20mm and maybe the back slightly and need to stiffen the ride to reduce the risk of scrubing From doing a bit of searching, it seems I need coilovers, as springs won't do both. Also I am planing on doing a TT transplant next year, so should I wait, as in do I need different coilovers for an N/A to TT When looking around at new suspension, it seems to be different between to the 2, but if they are height adjustable could I get away with it Just thinking if something comes up 2nd hand over the winter it would be nice to spread the cost away from the TT transplant, makes life easier with Jen;)
Nic
I intend to lower the front of my Supra 20mm and maybe the back slightly and need to stiffen the ride to reduce the risk of scrubing From doing a bit of searching, it seems I need coilovers, as springs won't do both. If you want to lower the car and also firm up the suspension you could: 1. Fit lowering springs that have a heavier spring rate. 2. Fit lowering springs and new dampers. 3. Fit height adjustable 'coilovers'. Some dampers and height adjustable coilovers also allow for compression and rebound dampening adjustment. Also I am planing on doing a TT transplant next year, so should I wait, as in do I need different coilovers for an N/A to TT When looking around at new suspension, it seems to be different between to the 2, but if they are height adjustable could I get away with it Just thinking if something comes up 2nd hand over the winter it would be nice to spread the cost away from the TT transplant, makes life easier with Jen;) In terms of fit, the NA and TT suspension is identical, however the front end of a TT is heavier - due to the turbos and associated parts - so the stock spring and damper rates are different. Height adjustable coilovers would allow you to adjust the ride height after the engine swap. If you just fit lowering springs then the ride height would lower slightly with the heavier 2JZ-GTE engine fitted, although you could have the dampers machined so the height of the spring seats could be altered. DodgyRog
Cheers Nic So in summary, I can get Coilover's now and adjust them when I go TT
