The Raven
Smart money is on the everything grounding to a halt again when 2 inches of snow hits. Lack of salt, planes grounded, panic ect. Dispite being slammed last year Exacta Weather is a non-profit weather organisation that comprises a team of meteorologists from around the world. The UK long range forecaster James Madden states that ’The UK is to brace itself for well below average temperatures and widespread heavy snowfall throughout winter 2011/2012 which will result in the fourth bad winter in succession, and will prove to be the worst of them all’. ’I fully expect records to be broken, with the Highlands of Scotland being once again particularly hard hit. It is vital to start preparing now in terms of high energy bills, and raised awareness amongst the elderly and most vulnerable people of society.’ James Madden’s forecast is based on major natural factors, including solar activity, and how they impact the weather and climate on Earth. His forecasting techniques have attracted significant attention after correctly forecasting seasonal trends in the UK - and proving the Met Office wrong on three successive occasions, before they decided to scrap seasonal forecasts altogether. He has also correctly forecast the harsh conditions experienced over the last two winters and well in advance of any other forecaster worldwide. AOL news continues the scare mongering. On the plus side with the rise in fuel bills i should make a killing.

The Raven
I will be chopping up more wood for the burner shortly and filling the oil tank, the SOBs doubled the price in the last lot of snow.

Littler
Increase in winter fuel bills = decrease in fuel used in the cars cos none of ours were able to move the past couple of winters! Walking it is lol, or working from home I think

TubbyTwo
any suggestions for a cheapish but decent 4x4? only reason I was looking at a disco was due to my boss selling his, its tatty but the engine and electrics etc are all working, and has some hardcore tyres on. TubbyTwo
Took the MR2 out in it last year, made the epic mistake of driving down a deserted side road and got stuck in the foot of fresh snow lol
tony tt
Supes aren't for the snow lol I wonder what it would look like with winter tyres on! 14inch wheel and fat tyres haha
Dnk
The concern would be someone sliding into it, its much better having 4 x 4 as you can get out of the way, driving the supra on ice or snow is gentle balancing act without the aid of a net. Not worth the risk in my book
TheTurtleshead
Supes aren't for the snow lol I wonder what it would look like with winter tyres on! 14inch wheel and fat tyres haha Actually, for a RWD sportscar, supra's are fantastic in the snow! When I bought my first one, I drove it back from glasgow in the extrme, heavy january snow that we had 2 years ago. It was glasgow to peterborough, 320 miles, with a mostly blocked heater matrix The tyres werent evem any good, they were cheap korean remoulds I then, because I was young and stupid, continued driving it through the rest of the snowy period, in the country! Never once got stuck or crashed
Purity14
Ive gotten stuck once or twice, but if you are calm and patient, most situations are resolved if you use your brain rather than getting in a fluster. Supras are great in the snow (manual n/a's ) - as mentioned, its other people you need to watch out for, id rather take a country lane in the snow (which ill often do, just for the challenge) rather than built up housing areas. bigbloodyturbo
I have my S4 quattro for this winter, hopefully better than the 330d last winter. My only concern is ground clearance as its quite low. Videos on youtube show them having no problems at all in snow, quite looking forward to being the one sailing past a bmw in a quattro rather than being the one in the bmw:)
Konrad
My trusty Landcruiser 80 series is here to get us through anything weather can throw at Midlands Just got a quote for a new heating system to my house and getting all installed at the end of the week, so I should be fine
