Got my first Tattoo today... Yay

I've never been one for tattoo's but always said that the one tattoo I would never regret would be my Childrens name(s) if I was lucky enough to have any.

Well I finally got the finger out and got myself down to the local tattoo shop. I'm really happy with it :)

Good work mate! Considering one myself (yes, still at the 'considering' stage!).

How did you pick where to get it done? Recommendations or just pick a tattoo shop?

My Wife has a couple of tattoos. She had her "Iris" tattoo done a couple of weeks ago and it's fantastic. The guy that did it is in Larkhall (handy for us) but I have seen a LOT of his work and it's all first class. The taste of some of the customers choices isn't great but the work is top notch IMO.

Be careful where you choose to go mate. I've seen some real horrors.

Trust me, I'm one for doing my homework and no more so than with something that's going to be with me for a very, very long time! :D

Definitely mate. I can recommend Harry personally now, he's a great guy and everyone working in his business is fantastic to talk to. Small business in the mainstreet, always packed out with customers though which says it all really.

Not sure if it's the norm or not but he said if it fades over the next few months to just pop back in and they will re-colour it for me. There's not really much I can do to leave it uncovered so there is a chance it will fade a little. My Wife got told the same thing so it's standard practice in there at least.

It looks level but not plumb.

Lol, my Wife has one leg shorter than the other ;)

Is that your back or a barn door??

It's quite strange actually, I don't think of myself as that size lol. When I first printed off the tattoo it was in portrait on an A4 piece of paper. I thought that looked plenty big. Chazza held it up to my back and said no way and that it needed to be far bigger so we opted for full size in landscape. So glad I did now as the other size would have been lost.

One of the guys in there said you can always tell the true Scotsmen. Said I was miserable, not even a drop of blood :D
