Cleaned Jen's new Civic Type R GT at the weekend so took a couple of pics

Unfortunately it kept threatening to rain, so I never took the risk of waxing, but it came up really well I think

We were a bit peeved when we went to collect it as the dealers had not even bothered to clean it as promised, when I put the back seats down and had a good look around, I found a crisp packet and in plain view they had just left what looks like a load of straw. Not what you expect when spending best part of £8k

I guess the main thing is the car seems fine

I am really surprised what a great car it is to drive, a lot of people say how harsh a ride they give, but it's no worse than my Supra on the Bilies

Town driving is really smooth, although it just wants to go all the time and the V-Tech is awesome, but it's a proper 4 seater, with me being 6'2" I can get out the drivers seat and sit in the seat behind it with no issues what so ever and it just seems to have a massive boot, which you would never guess from the outside

Anyway a few pics

After a week of Jen having it, she has totally fallen for it (Milano Red helps) and I must admit it really suprised me in a good way, if it stays reliable I can see us keeping it for a long time. Hopefully Jen will get bored of it thou and I can nic it a my daily:eyebrows:

Very nice, always like the new shaped civic.

To be honest I wasn't the biggest fan, but I am liking it more daily, I just wanted the V-Tech:D and Jen wouldn't have the previous shape

Really nice. You say it's ok for people in the back, but as per Top Gear, doesn't the seat reset itself all the way forward each time your let someone in/out of the back?

It does reset as such, all you have to do is slide the seat back a bit, it's not great, but it's certainly no hard ship for the very rare occasion someone might get in the back.

With both me and Jen driving it, we move the seat around anyway. If we do need to get someone in the back in a hurry they can get in the passenger side and slide across, there really is loads of room in it, it seems to be a bit of a tardis

far cry from my focus lol, as for the lack of a decent clean you should bill him for a pro valet

The Focus was for me and Jen went well over budget on this and has spent my 3rd car money as well. Got to love em, couldn't find the extra few £'s when I wanted them:taped:

If I thought it was worth the effort I would of asked for a discount when we picked it up, but he knew we had driven a fair distance to collect it so had us over a barrel really.

According to book price we saved £1400 at the price we got it for anyway

I'm irritated just reading that, let alone experiencing it first-hand.

Lovely car, though.

Don't quote me on this but if the Civic is anything like my Prelude I think the seat will slide back to whatever position you had it in if you don't allow the seatback to return to an upright position while you slide the seat base rearwards on the rails.

I didn't really like the new look to the civic but it has grown on me.

I bought mine though because of the huge boot space and because of the superb engine. I don't care what Top Gear say about the car, it is a superb drive and when test driving them all it felt much more responsive than other cars in it's class (VXR, R32 etc)

The seats 'sink' into the floor meaning you have a huge boot when you put the back seats down. I also like how you can make the boot bigger by removing the cover that would usually hide the spare wheel (Type R's don't have a spare wheel)

With regard the 'hard ride', I bought one with the 19inch Rage alloys.... they made the ride much more uncomfortable. I have driven them with the standard 17's and the ride is much softer. For some reasons my dash rattles (which drives me mad) but otherwise I have been really impressed with the

Yeah it bugged me at the time, but not many garages would of cleaned it well enough for me anyway

I will check that, when I am in it next

lovely looking cars.

I am usually not a Red car fan, but it seems to suite the Type R

Looks superb Rog

I know what you mean about the rear seats, they have LOADS of space!

Get some interior pictures up dude, I love the seats & dash :)

I will get a few of the interior just for you at the weekend;)

you need to invest in some rage wheels for it

I am not sure on the Rage wheels and they are known to make the ride nasty

Yeah not a fan either, the square edge on the rear quarter and front wing is just wrong

The dash rattle is quite common, if you can get a rough idea where it coming from, then take that area of the dash apart and cover anything that might rattle in fabric

Do a search on Civinfo for dash rattle, lots of reading to be done, lucky this one doesn't rattle at the moment
