ScottC
Maybe the photography buffs could help me out here as I know naff all about filters and need pointing in the right direction? I've been looking at adding a filter to my GoPro, to capture a more realistic driving sensation and came across this. Has anyone tried one, would this only work in bright conditions? The next problem I'm trying to over come is the glare from headlights at night when the camera's facing rearwards. Would the above help to reduce this, would this be of any use? Thanks
Lbm
Certainly a polarizing filter may be very useful. It can enhance the saturation of colours, ie making a blue sky sumptuously bluer. It will make clouds 'pop' a lot more etc. Also, it's very good when wanting to remove reflections from metallic surfaces (cars), or to 'see through' car windscreens/windows or even remove reflections from a body of water. So I'd look at those first. One thing to note though is you do need to stand facing your camera 90 degrees either way away from the sun to maximize the effect. In other words if you put a filter on and either point the camera at the sun, or 180 degrees away from the sun, it has minimal to zero effect. Remember to start turn in it too, as you will literally see the polarizing 'on-off-on' type effect as you rotate it. I do like them though. johnny g
And don't use polarised sunglasses when you're using the filter. You might end up seeing nothing
