Tromen
Hi Guys, I have a supra 94 NA auto. I noticed yesterday and today that my speedometer is messing about. While driving on the motorway the speedometer needle started jumping back and forth then it went down to 0mph which i was driving at 60mph then it went back to its correct position 60mph and was working properly. This happened a couple of time yesterday and today. Another issue is yesterday when i was about to set off from a traffic light, the car started jerking and wasnt moving although the rev counter was working, so I shifted from drive and put it to neutral and reved a few time then put it back to drive and it was working fine. Could someone please advice whats wrong with my car and what needs to be done. Thanks.
Heyrick
The speedo sounds like a loose connection. The wires behind the clocks get cut and rewired for the KM/MPH convertor and if it wasn't done well it could be the most likely cause. Otherwise it could be a faulty speed sensor (on gearbox??) or a faulty clock. The second problem I don't know... unless the speed sensor was giving a false reading to the ecu?? fastcar
i would go with a dodgy speedo converter seams to be a common problem. not sure on the other problem maybe check coil pack connecters on top or the spark plugs. They can become brittle and break and cause a miss fire but thats only a guess at best
