Parry_10
Hi guys, Have been putting up with this for ages now and ive had enough. I have a w58 gearbox, 6 puck competition clutch running bpu 1. When pulling off the clutch is juddery which I guess could be normal for this type of clutch? 2. When I drop down gears say 5th-4th is fine, 4th-3rd is fine its when I try to drop down from any gear to 2nd i get a big judder and it feels like my gearbox is going to fall off! 3. the clutch pedal squeeks but then if I go and give the car some stick it stops squeeking? Then the next day it will squeek again until I give the car some stick again. Also sometimes its harder to put into gear but then sometimes its easier- doesnt make a difference if the car is hot or cold. The only thing I can think of is maybe the pushrod needs adjusting, would this cause any of these problems? Chris
JamieP
I take it you did a NA-TT conversion? regarding judder did you put the second mount in the diff? might be worth a shot.
Parry_10
I take it you did a NA-TT conversion? regarding judder did you put the second mount in the diff? might be worth a shot. yeh thats right jamie, I did have that thought in my head because I didnt put the 2nd mount in but it seems strange it only does it when pulling off and when I drop it into 2nd. I would have thought just pulling off would not put enough strain on the diff mounts to cause a problem but maybe I am wrong

Parry_10
maybe im just beeing too fussy but sometimes it actually feels like my gearbox mounts are loose or something its terrible. If the pushrod adjustment was out of spec what problems would that cause?
fastcar
i have a competition 6 puck and judders to when droping down from 4th to 3rd. Judders like mad in reverse. Think its just the nature of a puck clutch. can be anoying but grips so well i tend to ingnore it.
Parry_10
Just updating this thread as it might help someone out in future, ive solved the cause to my clutch problems. It was the clutch master cylinder push rod needed adjusting
SteveC
Nice of you to come back with the fix. So often you read through a problem thread and it just ends with no conclusion/solution!
