The Raven
The Mrs was turning into our drive from the main road last night stopped in the road. Heard a smash and though it might be her low and behold a chav in a polo had smashed into the back of her car at "30". Shes ok nothing broken, just bad whiplash. The cars a right off the back doors wont shut where its bent the whole lot. And they wonder why they ave to pay so much insurance in the first few years.

Havard
Looks consistent with about 35 - braking. The car is designed to crumple though. The fact that the tow bar has been so badly bent suggests a fair old thump though..!!
The Raven
Yeah the tow bar took the brunt of it. To be fair the car held up really well. As you say the cars made to crumple., its creased the roof. Trying to convince her to buy a TT6 now.....Shes not impressed

Only if he was in it surely? The strain of a child x the force of an accident will weaken the seat. The empty seat wouldn't be under any strain..!! The Raven
Nope i think even an empty seat has to be binned.

L18msy
Ooooft!. That is a fair old skelp into the Renault. The Scienics ae surprisingly strong,(i have had to sraighten a few recently in work) a 5 star safety rating iirc. So a polo to do that must of been travelling. There couldn't be much left of the Polo? Are the police taking action? Looks like undue care and attention to me.
tkddav3
main thing is your misses is okay and it was a renault so now you get the opportunity to get a better car

Sorry to hear this dude, keep an eye on her, looks like a fairly decent hit so if unexpected her head would have snapped back quite quick. Most likely have neck pain or sharp needle like feelings in her neck.
The Raven
Shes got an urgent CT scan tomorrow, She just keeps falling asleep, and losing her train of speech. Like she will start saying something then forget what she wants to say, At first it was kind of funny but its happening lots more and shes still got a bad headache. Shes finding that if people talk to fast she has trouble understanding them, all this was fine before. Better to be safe than sorry i guess I think a number of things went against her, shes very small only 8 stone and 5 foot so she was a bit of a rag doll, I think her airbags missed fired. The check all air bags warning is on the dash but nothing deployed? And the main worry as silly as it sounds is she had her hair in a pony tail, i think when her head snapped back it turned into a big hard ball and bounced the back of her head off of it. caseys
Concussion is nasty stuff, I had it the last time I fractured my skull and basically you just want to lay down in a dark room for 3-5 days. Hope she's ok chap
Scott
The CT scan will be to check for slight chances of compression bud, I take it they said to you about that? They can't be THAT concerned about it or it would have been an immediate CT scan rather than an appointment. Concussion is where your brain gets a bump and is bruised, there are very obvious signs of concussion with headaches and tiredness being the most common. Compression is when the bump of the brain leads to a cut/bleed reather than just a bruise. The inital symptoms are pretty much the same but obviously the longer it goes on the more dangerous it becomes. IIRC it's called compression due to the pressure build up from the bleed. Not sure what happenes nowadays but people who went to hospital with "concussion" weren't actually there because of it. They are there to be monitored to make sure it isn't actually a bleed (compression) rather than a concussion. Hard to explain but I'm sure you get the jist. Anyway, this is the reason why I am saying not to worry too much. If they suspected "compression" your Wife would have been in there straight away. The concussion that your Wife has suffered has most likely caused mild and temporary brain damage hence why she is a little foggy. The scan is just a precuationary measure to make 100% sure there isn't any lasting damage or small bleeds that could lead to lasting damage. Yeah but its hard to keep an eye on her 24/7 i have to work and leave her with my mum as we have a 2 yearold and she cant pick him up ect. Then i could be typing this turn round and shes nodded off. Same thing happened when i took her in the car to tescos i was gone tops 15 minutes come back shes asleep again The CT scan will be to check for slight chances of compression bud, I take it they said to you about that? Thanks scott, i kinda figured they were not to worried shes not showing any of the more worrying signs eye sight issues or being dizzy and or sick that point towards a brain bleed. The doctor was going to fax it over but said if we take it they might do it there and then but they didnt.
