Scott
This has been going on up here for a year or 2. I know my Wife got it done last year, and I don't think it was a new thing when she did.

Charlotte
How many fish do you have in the tank? I've often wondered - do you need some kind of extra training in fish welfare or do you just buy the tank and fish and get on with it? Does the water in the tank get changed? I've currently got 58 fish (random number i know)....but ive just bought another 50. You should have between 75-100 for a single foot spa, obviously the more you have the better end result of the treatment. We change the water every day to keep it clean and the fish healthy, just about a 15-20% water change. I own tropical fish at home so have that experience, and these are quite low maintenance (as long as my staff keep loking after them properly!) Jamesy
Most people charge £10 for 15 minutes .... as we want worldwide dominance (or at least for Mid Sussex!!) we charge £10 for 20 minutes....

caseys
There's a few salons that do it down here and it's commonplace back where my family is in Malaysia. The places around here are being looked at though due to health concerns, i.e. quality of water for people (more than the fish) and also the possibility to spread diseases/verrucas etc. How much drink do we have to ply you with to try dunking your face in? AilsaMX5
My sister and I went before on a groupon deal - £9 for 20 mins I think - and I liked it, only you were sitting right in the middle of the Gyle shopping centre in Edinburgh so felt a bit conspicuous and it wasn't that relaxing! Would go back, but to a salon/spa instead! It does kind of gross me out a bit putting your feet in the same water loads of other people's feet have been in, but I managed to get over that since I guess they don't allow diseased feet in. :-p

We have ours tucked away in the backwash area. With regards to dirty water/spreading germs etc.... we get clients to put their feet in a warm foot bowl for 5 mins to wash away any oils, creams, dirt etc... we then make sure no verrucas and away you go! Your method sounds a lot more thorough than the one at XFeet - they basically just schoosh your feet with some disinfectant stuff (or liquid fish food, it's hard to tell) and off you go... Not that reassuring!
