Ian W
Depends if you need a cat 1 alarm or not It would make sense to wouldn't it, even if just for the potential insurance savings.
spikedjack
a thatcham cat 1 would be ideal! not interested in all the frills like remote start and stupid noises etc as long as its good quality and works well

Chris Wilson
I have a total hatred of alarm systems, so I assess them with amazing vigour. Toad seem to give me less grief than most, but no alarm at all is my choice If someone really wants to nick the car, they will. Installation quality is 90% of the job, a world class alarm installed by someone working to competition for the lowest price estimate will be less reliable than an El Cheapo installed by a dedicated professional. The less you hack into the factory loom the better, IMO.

What Chris really means is that he deeply loves the Clifford Concept with the BlackJax anti-hijack feature
Chris Wilson
Especially the "if all else fails" feature. No oil pressure, engine seizes
spikedjack
Good to hear Chris! Funny you say that as a good friend of mine had similar issues with one Installed on his fd3s. Do you have any recommended installers to try or just worth doing some research? Cheers
Chris Wilson
I don't get involved with alarms, sorry. I would say find a good motorport wiring specialist and see if they would consider fitting the alarm. Ryan? Most alarm "fitters" are working to be as cheap as possible, so you get shoddy results. letmeshowyou
I've had a fair number of different alarms over the years, clifford, toad etc. The one that was least hassle was the sigma I had on my last Supra
