NOW SOLD

Dear All,

Just a quick thread to let you know I have my Cosmic Grey 2004 (54') Honda Civic Type R up for sale! I am selling this due to coming back to Supra ownership. :)

Car has done 82k, has about 8 months MOT left, 2 months road tax. Recently serviced (by club member supraturbochris), which included all the filters including a K&N filter & also spark plugs. Alignment carried out 2 weeks ago & also 2 fresh new front tyres (Falken 452's). AC re-gassed recently too! Price is reduced massively due to it being a Cat C but don't let that put you off, it was only written off due to cost of repair (insurance companies come out with ridiculous estimations for repair). Drives well, but the clutch is on its way out & would need to be replaced within a few months (I was planning on getting Chris to do this for me). Replacement clutches can be brought off eBay for £160, Honda I think it is closer to £200. If need be I can get the clutch replaced if we can agree on a good price.

Driving to France in it this weekend so I'll get some proper pictures.

Here is a Gumtree Advert I put up last night: http://www.gumtree.com/p/cars-vans-motorbikes/2004-facelift-honda-civic-type-r-cosmic-grey-ac/87960602

*Price here is for club members.

Updated with some proper pictures, sorry Photobucket messed up the order of my photo's.

From recent footage shown on the forum can you clarify the engine isnt a 1.1 fiat punto engine? The Drag video's would seem to suggest this... ;)

That was my first attempt ever, I learnt my lesson so the car now has fresh tyres. Don't worry, I'll post up some video's beating some NA's ;)

It is a fairly quick for a 2.0 NA engine, managed to run a 15.3! With decent tyres & less fuel in the tank I think I could have got it into the 14's.

Can tell I don't do Honda's, I thought it was a 1.8 :D

Well you'd be forgiven as the Integra & the B18 engines from the civic's were 1.8 these were on the older models. Actually found the VTEC much more aggressive on them, the newer EP3's use iVTEC (no, not made by Apple) which isn't as aggressive.

You can tell I am a Honda boy, I have tinkered with a few other the years. ;)

My mate had a Teg type R, with the circle headlamps at the front, spent a fortune on cams turbo kit etc, was a rocket by the end of it, sold that for an Evo 8 and has missed it ever since!

I got offered a black one of these when I had the supra as a straight swap but never really entertained one, although I do think they looks really nice!

Glws boobie cakes! Glad your back in a supra though ;)

TBH i love this shape of type r. There so chuckable and nippy. Just a shame the driver of this one didnt know how to use it correctly :D

GLWS mate. Shouldn't hang around.

Whatever Martin :D

You are right though they are very chuckable, I picked this up from Scotland & had an amazing drive back to London going through some of the best roads I had ever driven.

Great daily driver Neil! ;)

Though you do have a very quick Supra!

TBH i think the type R should be a fair bit quicker than my supra and theirs more tuning potential with that engine, more bolt ons available. I want something fast and NA and these tend to tick all the right boxes and don't often come up this cheap.

Lovely car and a shame about the CAT C. However at this price you can afford to run it into the ground and have fun while you are doing it.

Nearly correct, Abz. The EK9 Civic actually came with the B16 (1.6), and it was only the DC2 Integra that came with the B18 (1.8).

Spot on about the VTEC cross-over being less aggressive on the newer models though

Good price if it was going to be kept for a while as said (I'd be having it myself if I needed a new motor, but the DC2 is far from being done in yet :D)

Right, 6:15am at Eurotunnel, heading to France in this baby!!!

Clocked 630 miles on the Type R over the weekend in France & as expected it was superb!

We got lost at one point & had to drive an extra 20 miles through a forest road with the smoothest & windiest tarmac I had ever driven! Was an effortless drive & I think this is where the car is at home with.

At the bottom end yes but although it is strong in the top end the Supra engine pulls better.

Though like you said Neil, great amount of power from a 2.0 NA engine.

Good runners these. Even after revving the engine into oblivion they still run like clockwork. As H says, buy it with the intention of keeping it and it will be a bargain.

Ah yes & also the EG civic's which came with the B16! In the Del Sol that engine feels brutal! ;)
