Scott
That is a fantastic video, for all the wrong reasons. The earthquake at the beginning really made me feel uneasy, I've never experienced anything like that before and I have always found it hard to imagine what it would be like. Almost seeing it first hand brought home just how it would make you feel. The time it took for the water to envelop the area is very scary. I can't imagine how those people must have felt witnessing that. At first I would feel that it would be best to jump out and head for a building, looking at what happened though it's a very hard situation to judge. The scary part with the earthquake was the time it lasted.. Usually in Japan you feel a tremor which lasts abt 15secs, this one went on for long time, almost 2 minutes.. This was with me being 600kms away from the tsunami area.. Thats when the fear gets into you, and the potential for panic.. That Tsunami situation is just one where you would not know what to do.. Everyone in my office was quite calm for about 30sec and then as it ramped up people started to look seriously worried. It was at that point I wish I didn't work in an office block ! Hammer
That's scary stuff. The Earthquake was frightening enough but the speed the water moved was incredible. Felt for the guy trapped in the black van and I know it's not funny but I had to smile at the guy who ran back to shut the door on his car after bailing out. I can't imagine any Supra owner who wouldn't do the same in the vain hope it might save their pride and joy.

Obviouly it was tiny compared to proper earthquakes, but for me, in my house, when things start moving that have never moved before, its really, really unnerving. I mean, one's house simply doesn't start shaking. It was very scary and it only lasted about 10 seconds, if that. That pedestrian in the video was clearly experienced however, the way he hunched low for stability on his feet was impressive.
