michael
I know a few of you like to use these on meets, not sure if they are compatible with the ones you have already but they seem very cheap: http://www.argos.co.uk/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?storeId=10001&catalogId=3151&langId=-1&productId=125826 Very limited stocks, the stores I tried seem to be getting more on Wednesday, you can only reserve them for collection, no delivery. Was £34.95 - now £8.73 (Catalogue number 5530568 on http://www.argos.co.uk if the link above doesn't work) http://www.it-class.net/images/smile/add12.gif

SimonB
Guys, these cheap ones are no good as they don't have CTSS (or whatever its called) so they only have 8 channels instead of 300 odd.
Elliot
Bargain! Just reserved a set & am picking up Wednesday!

Too late (I suppose I don't have to go down there and pick them up though!) What's up with 8 channels? I only need one!

But surely the fancy nancy ones can pick up the small number of channels these ones have? I'm getting a pair for use as a pair I guess, if anyone else has them that's good, if not they will be OK for the odd times I'll use them. For £8 I'm not expecting much

Green Peace
The rest of us have the ones with CTCSS...what this does is it filters all the crap out otherwise you just hear lots of crackling noise ...the people in the Nike Shop etc etc. I know it says 300 channels rather than 8 on the more expensive ones but this is very misleading...what it infact means is that there are 38 combination codes...times by 8 channels which evffectively gives you 300 hundred unique combinations in which to select a user group using the same channel and not suffer so much if any interferance from other users. These sets you have bought are great for around the house but on the Supra convoys you will suffer interference and everyone else uses the tone codes. Sorry only just re-registered and would of told ya earlier.. But hey for £8 ya may as well keep em useful in some way around the house or whatever I spose...but not compatible with the rest of the radios everyone else has. Bunch of Cheapskates. Paul
What a bunch of conning bastards!!! Went to pick up tonight and the price to pay is now £24.95 !!!! They say and the conditions say that the price you pay is the price on the day of collection which they now say is £24.95. Argued like f*ck and they said that todays price is this not the £8.73 as advertised. Got home and looked up the site and they are still £8.73 on there so phoned Argos customer services and threatened to go to Trading Standards, after all they could get you to reserve a wide screen telly for £5 and then you go down and pick it up and you are then told it's £380? They have now phoned the store and agrred to let me have for £8.73. Only a poxy couple of radios but it's the principle............. Kick arse on these lads. Wipeout
Picked a set up yesterday, can't complain at £8 a set, might even buy another set as they have mic/speaker input on them so ideal for ride outs on the bike.
michael
I went to collect mine just before meeting RedM tonight - got in the store and went to the automated payment thing and up they popped at full price... then went to one of those blue stock checking things and they came out at £16 something. I had a moan at the customer service girl and she checked the price but insisted they had only ever been reduced once and that was the to the £16.x Couldn't be bothered causing a scene so left it and bought a smoke machine and a hedge trimmer instead...... Very rude of them but the terms on the reserve site state that the price you pay is the price in store when you collect so I figured they had won, glad to hear some of you could be bothered to push them a bit though! Paul
Smoke machine??????????????? So they can't even con people by the same amount, disgusting that they get people to reserve at a price then up it when they come to collect. I read the terms and they do say the price is based on the day of collection but seeings that the site still had them for £8.73 today then I think they are taking the piss a little. Such a big company deceiving people like this is out of order, it's a calculated con as they prevent on line purchase at that price and as of the weekend they had none in stock then low and behold at midnight before they get them in the price goes up to £16, £25 and also stays the same £8 across 3 different stores ? F*CKING W*ANKERS the lot of them, staffed by spotty teenagers and some slag of a manageress that'll have the smug grin wiped off her face when I get the bastard things for £8..................not that I'm wound up or anything Paul
RedM
Smoke machine??????????????? Yes, Michael bought a smoke machine. I saw it with my very own eyes. I suggested hooking it up to the car alarm.

Paul
Boots are doing the same thing, a kettle for £39 ish reduced to £31 on their site, not as an online deal but purely for info. Phoned up the local store and they have them for.......... £39? At least the bird down there sympathised and looked it up on the net, agreed and phoned head office. They told her to stick to the higher price but on the quite she said she'll do it for the lesser price because she believed we are in the right. She probably ain't got spots either, stacks of makeup though cause it's Boots Paul
michael
Still £8.73 online today - if it was a pricing error you would have thought they could have sorted it by now....
