Chris Wilson
You can tell with an oscilloscope.

Chris Wilson
http://www.picoauto.com/applications/electronic-fuel-injection.html See the end of the article, I use a low amperage current clamp to read the opening current, it easily spots most sticking injectors. Without this you will probably be guessing unless one sticks altogether, or is chronically bad.
gavin.starr
I had the same thing, And it turned out to be my plugs, even though i only had them in for about 2k miles. was'nt too happy. I dont know if this is true or not, But i was told you can damage the iridium sparkies by doing short trips, or turning you engine on and off for brief moments of time i.e moving the car 6 foot up the drive, which is what i did alot of. Chris Wilson
If it's intermittent and only does it occaionally you will struggle. Ideally renew all injectors and fit new terminal tails. It certainly wouldn't be a while you wait job.
mellonman
Thanks for the replies chris, looks like i will have to take them out then, if i did take them out would a flow test pick up the faulty injector? then i could sell the good one as a set of 4. funny i wouldnt of said these have even done 10,000 miles, ever heard of the seimens deka 630cc failing looks like i will try the plugs first then you never know might have a dodgy plug
Chris Wilson
Yes, a flow test should show any problems, I can flow test and clean at £12.80 per injector plus VAT, and insured return carriage of £6.
