Dan_Q
Hi All, One of my few posts on here- the search engine is that good i've hardly had to post since joining! But now I have a question. Does anyone have any experience of fitting an alloy radiator to an NA supra, and if so which type would you recommend? I hope to get out on the track next year, and the coolant is due a change, so I'd like to throw in a better radiator at the same time just as a good measure. The car is standard in every other way if that makes any difference, but mild mods may happen over time. Thanks in advance Dan
Dan_Q
Also I forgot to add, I may as well change to silicone hoses too whilst i'm at it- again if anybody has any information on those too, i'd appreciate it Cheers
Scott
Best bet would be a stock TT core bud. They are copper cores so should be better at cooling and will be better at avoiding oxyidising. You can pick them up 2nd hand for under £100, think there might even be one for sale at the moment
Dan_Q
So a TT rad will fit straight into the hole and plumb up? nice one, i never knew that, will look into it. the one i've seen is this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Toyota-Supra-MK4-NA-Non-Turbo-Alloy-Aluminium-Radiator-/180713015791?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item2a1355c9ef if i can get a new one for a few quid more than a second hand one, i'd prefer that option. fensport offer one but its £300 and i'd like to spend a little less than that! Dnk
Stock rad = best in my opinion. http://www.merlinmotorsport.co.uk for Samco hoses

Dan_Q
Thanks for this guys. Dnk> I've had a look on the merlin msport website as you suggested (good place, supplied a few parts when i was prepping my celica) but the ones in the list all seem to be for turbo models- are they the same as an NA? I just imagine they'd be different because they are in the celica world! keron> sounds interesting, very interested. is the alloy rad you supply a bigger core, and does it need a fitting kit of any description? reason I ask is my car is stored elsewhere temporarily so i have to travel down with everything i need to do the job thanks for the advice so far
keron
mine are direct replacements, there are 2 types of core on the supra, these are the thicker ones but all interchange and everything fits as normal...
