My girlfriend (sorry, FIANCE now :stickpoke ) bought me a driving experience voucher for my Birthday back in December! Setting off at 9 tomorrow to rag a little old Lotus Elise around for the afternoon! Well :ecstatic: !!

Can't wait to see how far they'll let me push it round the track! My old boss went on the same thing last year and has told me that it's pretty amazing how late they tell you to brake when they're taking you round the track, so should be quite an eye opener! (Unless he's a bit of a wet lettuce and can't drive anyway!)

Fiance's already worried how i'll drive on the way home! :p

Keep your eyes on the M1 tomorrow for a speeding red veilside Soop! It'll be me! :sly:

Taking camera with us, so i'll post piccys up for ya all to have a laugh at! :tumble:

Matt,

I had the oppertunity to have a blast in a Elise, I gave it a good thrappin' around this track and thought that i'd done alright. The works driver that was passanger was saying that I was doing good....I was feeling pretty chuffed with myself, until he said "OK, pull over and I'll take it round for a few laps"

I have never, ever been in a vehicle that handles so well, even better than my EVO that I had last year. probably down to the driver, but, what an experience! I never thought it would go round corners so fast!

Elise's rule for handeling, bit of a hairdressers car though!

Have a wicked day mate.

Should have a fantastic day at this. I put my supe around silverstone last year and if I still have my current car in September will do it again. Its a fantastic track with plenty of run off if it goes Pete on you.

Just booked a track evening with Goldtrack on the GP circuit. I've been on a full track day there before which was brilliant, but it was pretty expensive. This one is £135 for 2.5 hours open pit lane. August 15th if anyone else fancies it.

Guys!!

What can i say!! FANTASTIC DAY!!!!! Perfect weather, and the Elise!!! 190bhp and only 700kg! (Half the weight of a fiesta!) LOADS O FUN!

Instructor couldn't believe i'd never done a track day before, and questioned me about it 4 times because i did so well! (Not being big headed but.....) GOT 95% score, and the following comments written on the test sheet:

First Session

A really excellent drive- on the way out of corners unwind the steering and use all the road to avoid oversteer.

Second Session

QUITE BRILLIANT!! You have a real talent for driving which will probably end up in bankrupting you!

And in big letters circled next to 95% he's put "WOW!!" :innocent:

Guy instructing was brilliant, and when he took me out on my flying lap with him driving, he told me that he had to push it as hard as he could so i didn't show him up!! I'm still buzzin now after a 3 hour drive up the M1 home!

Totally recommend it guys, and can't wait to take my own car onto a track now!!

Couple o pictures that Emma took, and also posting some of the Soop in the 2006 Calendar Thread in the hope that the backdrops will get me on the shortlist!
