Steve W
******************************************************* Thank you for your email. I would like to advise that all fuel supplied to Tesco, complies with the relevant British Standard. The variations include: Unleaded - BSEN228 (octane 95 RON) ?ultra low sulphur meeting Govt. spec) Lead Replacement Petrol - BS4040 (octane 97 RON) Diesel BSEN590 (ultra low sulphur) Our fuel, the majority of which comes from UK oil companies, matches the quality of other leading fuel retailers. It is regularly tested, by both the supplier and our own Technical Services department. Trading Standards, when called in to check our fuel, have always found it to conform to the correct standard. Tesco is the largest independent fuel retailer in the UK and one in twelve gallons sold is Tesco fuel. We also run our own fleet of over 2000 vehicles on our own fuel. unfortunately the information regarding where the 99RON fuel comes from is sensitive information only avaliable to Tesco. Thank you for your enquiry. If you have any further queries please do not hesitate to contact us at [email protected] quoting TES1385116X. STILL no reply ??:- -----Original Message----- From: Carole & Steve [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: 06 November 2005 12:31 To: '[email protected]' Subject: 99RON, where, what. Dear Sir/Madam, the other members/owners on my Club Site (mkivsupra.net - Toyota Supra) have brought your new Fuel to my attention. Just 2 quick questions: 1) is THIS a fairly true/up-to-date list of the present distributing stations ? :- http://www.greenergy.com/products/99_octane_locations.html 2) Who actually MAKES your 99Ron fuel ?? I know that none of the major refining companies (BP/Shell/Esso/Texaco etc) Produce or distribute such a fuel ! Does Tesco actually refine their own ?!? Forgive me if the second sounds doubting, but I like to know WHERE the stuff going in my car COMES from :-) Thanks, S.Wheatley. ******************************************************** SO....... from that i take it that there IS no standard for Super Unleaded ??? She says there are only THREE specs: Unleaded 95 LRP Diesel ???? and therefore, when tested, it must meet 95RON specs ??? SO.......................... She doesn't answer the "WHERE" question at all...... FatPessimist
lust2luv
The fuel is imported by Greenergy, hence the list of petrol stations on their website. Not sure who actually manufactures it, but there are a number of companys selling 99 or 100 octane fuel overseas. Information is here: http://www.greenergy.com/products/99_octane.html Product specification is here: http://www.greenergy.com/products/technical_product_info/product_specs/99_octane.pdf
lust2luv
Oh and there are 2 independent inspection reports here: http://www.greenergy.com/products/technical_product_info/product_quality_certificates.html RON is at least 99.0. MON is a little low though at 86.0.
lust2luv
That website also lists BP and Shell as clients, so I'd guess the fuel is one of their US premium 93 octane fuels with 5% bioethanol added.
Dash Rendar
I've recently moved home and was surprised to find my local Tesco (Warfield, Bracknell) selling 99 RON fuel at prices that put BP and Shell to shame. Having always been advised to avoid supermarket petrol, I came on here to see if anyone had anything to say about it. I didn't expect to find seven pages about Tesco's new fuel! Thanks for all the info guys. I'll be buying my fuel from Tesco from now on.
toyotasuprauk
I was slightly out of my usual driving location today and got some of this 99 ron from tesco holmbush in hove which isn't on the list. 90.9p I put £40 in but had at least £5 of 95 ron in the tank already. I've driven for about 20 miles on it but cant say it made any difference at all, so far anyway.

Angarak
There is a Tesco Express garage at 'Windle Island' on the A580 East Lancs (between Manchester + Liverpool) that now does 99RON Super Unleaded @ 89.9p/litre. It used to be big green BP station, but became a tesco one in mid December.
