Squatters rights - What would you do?

Surely having an intruder alarm fully set up and working would deter them, as if they get in (broken in, unforced entry) and the system was linked to the police then questions would have to be answered as why they are there? Why they can't turn off the alarm? Why they aren't the registered owner/tenant of the property?

Also if they damaged the alarm then, criminal damage charges could be filed.

Although a big guard dog trained to bite smelly hippy type people :) would be a cheaper easier solution!

By the time the police came round they would already have put in the legal notice (which they can print off the web) in the window, change the door lock & claim they have been there for a while & it's a problem with the alarm system & they will call an engineer. The police can't do nothing apart from following the protocols as mentioned above.

We have a lot of property in the UK which is owned by people in other countries. I know a lot of Arabs buy big houses in West London to spread their wealth. These places are normally empty most year round! Squatters heaven!!!
