Hi Guys,

I'm new to the board albeit have owned my UK TT for about 4 yrs now.

Have just noticed that my front shocks are leaking badly (with associated poor handling recently!!) and would appreciate any guidance on replacements without breaking the bank and also considering that i dont hammer it too often!!

oh, and any ideas on stock intercooler upgrade options without fitting a fmic??

cheers

I have recently upgraded my suspension and so have some standard uk spec shocks if your interested. They were replaced by the previous owner at 94,000 miles and the car currently has 108,000 miles so the shocks have plenty of life in them yet.

I also have the official toyota invoice for the major service in which the shocks were replaced so you can be sure of the mileage they've covered. :)

:welcome: SC

If you are looking to upgrade your suspension, I have a set of HKS Hypermax II's which are virtually new (just 3 months use) for sale at a fraction of what they would cost you new.

I recently fitted a (different) set of the Hypermax II's on my car and posted my thoughts about their performance, see [thread=34663]HERE[/thread]

Please see photos and price [thread=39863]HERE[/thread]

If you would prefer to just replace the dampers, then I could also source a set of new genuine Bilstein dampers, these were fitted as standard on the later Supras as a performance option by Toyota. I can get these delivered to your door quite a lot cheaper than you will pay for them in the UK.

I have attached photos of a set I recently sourced for another member.

wow that ARC is a huge amount of money. Michael Canny (mcanny) had one of those. I wonder if it cost him that much!

All ARC parts are quite expensive, however the quality and performance is very hard to beat. The the core design in their IC's is suppose to be very efficient. They are not mass produced, so the brand is very exclusive and the quality very high.

I was lucky enough to have an ARC titanium exhaust and front strut brace on my car when I bought it :) I'm also sourcing an ARC airbox for a member at the moment.

what are the radtec smic's like? is anyone using one at the moment? - where's best place to get one?

cheers

Not sure what the Radtec IC is like, I would guess you pretty much get what you pay for though.

If I was in the market for a new SMIC and lived in the UK, I would definitely go with Chris Wilson's. Chris is a member of this forum and has his own race/performance road car servicing/preparation company. He is one of THE most knowledgable people in the UK when it comes to Supra engineering/tuning.

He has designed the IC with high quality core, to maxize cooling efficiency, I'm sure he would be happy to explain the performance of the IC in more detail, suggest you email/call him before deciding, see contact details [user=54]HERE[/user]
