Guest SSS
Just been to see a Supra with a view too buying it. I was about to get a data check done as I have the VRM and VIN Plate details. For some reason the websites are asking for a 17 digit VIN number but I didn't see one on the VIN plate. All I have is: MODEL E-XXXXX-XXXXX ENGINE XXX-XXX 2997 FRAME No. XXXXX-XXXXXXXX COLOR TRIM XXX XXXX TRANS/AXLE XXXXX XXXX PLANT XX Obviously not X's but didn't want to list the guys VIN plate details! Which bit of this do I use when getting a data check done? Or will I not be able to get one as the car is an import? Also, anyone used a data check company before? Which one did you use and were they any good?
Homer
Take a look here mate: http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?t=41702&highlight=vin Enter your details and see what it says, hopefully it'll match the car!
garethr
You could try BIMTA
Pete
Jap cars don't have VIN numbers, just model and frame numbers, so yes - it's an import.
