RobD
Well, it's been 2-3 months now and it still feels painful! First month wasn't to bad, saving money on insurance and petrol overlooked the lack of presence power and looks my supra had. Now, a mate on here has finally got his car on the road after a big power build and seeing him riding about and a few other mates in there cars is really hitting it home just how much I want another! Bless them for doing it but they all came to my work Saturday... This made me want my car even more!! Then Stuart (Stuart_Hydzik on here) came over tonight and let me drive his... Secretly Stuart knew what it would do to me, but still he done it!! Stupid question, but has anyone else gone through this...does it get easier? Or should I just face it, I need to buy a Supra?! Blackie
Man up! Did you actually drive the red one? We are off to get another TT on saturday for Karolina, Fancy a time share? That black one looks awesome in the picture
stuart hydzik
Dude don't worry you can drive her as much as you whant till you get your new one
RobD
If I get another it'll be a single, my other half doesn't mind if I keep the focus as a family car, but I fear the supra wouldn't get used! My last one I put 6k on the clock in 2 years! its a lot of money to have sitting there for a few thousand miles a year!
mwilkinson
Buy another Supra. You should never have sold it in the first place. I constantly go through a love hate cycle with my car, but she always wins me over

letmeshowyou
It does get a little better, but maybe never completely. Having put £400 in Petrol in the Supra one weekend was it's final nail for me. My 330d is a good consoloation for now. Clearly no comparison, but it pulls very well, and uses so little fuel, the money I'm saving is worth a grin at least
Tom S
Well after 5 years, 2 TT Aristo's, I'm back in a Supra........ tis one of those voice battles I lost
caseys
I had the same pain as you when I sold my last Supra It was made up though that I had my next one already parked up on the driveway

RobD
You lot are terrible! I decided to get another a few weeks back, but then thought I don't want it sitting there rotting, I think I may just have to follow my heart on this one though and get another! When I see my mates pull into my work it broke me a little, I think I need to start saving, ESP after seeing a few singles like Stonkin's about ATM, that would be right up my street! Thanks for the constant onslaught for me to buy another, it looks like it's worked!
marbleapple
We are off to get another TT on saturday for Karolina, Fancy a time share? Does Karolina know you are pimping her out? I suspect you might get into trouble.
RobD
Does Karolina know you are pimping her out? I suspect you might get into trouble. If that was the case I'd buy the car for her!
RobD
Thought I'd check a few insurance quotes today, cheapest quote through confused for me on a RZ twin turbo was £2300! If I wait until I'm 25 next year, sure term will insure me fully comp for £200 and odd, How the hell does that work? yet the others are still above 2k! Error somewhere? Either way lok like I'll wait until my 25th which will give me a good 10-11 months to save some hard cash! Also if it's correct through SureTerm then in theory a single turbo shouldn't be to bad to insure!
caseys
I'm with sureterm chap on my uk single I believe that will be a classic policy price - so limited Mileage and no commuting FYI Also not sure if they insure jspec
RobD
It would be a weekend car anyway and only do low miles a year, I put it as j-spec for that quote but if they turned around and said it's only for a uk I can justify paying more for a uk spec if insursance will be that much cheaper! Scott
Confused and all those other sites are hopeless for getting real quotes on Supras. Check with LWIB, Sky, Adrian Flux, A-Plan, the usuals and see what they give you. Shouldn't be too bad at
Iky
It would be a weekend car anyway and only do low miles a year, I put it as j-spec for that quote but if they turned around and said it's only for a uk I can justify paying more for a uk spec if insursance will be that much cheaper! I've just done a quote on go compare stating it's a jap import and sureterm quote was about £650 so they most likely will insure J-specs. Im currently paying £1000+ and only cover 5k miles a year sd&p so will give them a call.
a98pmalcolm
I've been without mine as its in the shop for 4 days and im missing it..
caseys
TT at 24 my best price was A-Plan Thatcham branch (but again, UK spec) Sureterm do classic policy at 25 onwards LWIB do classic policy at 30 onwards Car has to be 15 years old with Sureterm - not parked on the road at a minimum, I believe max mileage is 5k/year on a classic. Cat1 alarm is required. But this does give you insurance for car events / club stands so they said. Good luck on your hunt Rob Find a nice UK spec. Or make me an offer (mine is an auto tho). If you think maybe a UK spec will command a £2000ish premium you'll save that in two years on the insurance : UK cost example £9000 1st year insurance = £249 2nd Year insurance = £249 Total cost £9498 for two years J-spec cost example £7500 1st year insurance = £2050 2nd year insurance = £1500ish? Total cost of £11050 for two years. Unless indeed you can find a broker that insures j-spec under 30 (Harvard I believe is 30 with LWIB, as is Purity14). I remember when I bought my first J-Spec back in 2001/2002 when I was 21, I was all excited the insurance quote was £1200, then I did the rookie mistake that it was a UK spec quote, got to the dealer with £8000 odd in cash in my backpack, got the license plate, read it to the insurers, quote was suddenly £2250 I still got it though - it was too late, I wanted it by then. Impulsive at 21. Heck, still impulsive now.
Havard
Unless indeed you can find a broker that insures j-spec under 30 (Harvard I believe is 30 with LWIB, as is Purity14). Thanks for the compliment Caseys but I am 36 and with Lynbrook. I am not really sure what criteria they have for classics, but my Supe was only 13 years old when I insured with them and Purity 14 (Brendan) is only about 27 if memory serves. Always worth a call if the car is lightly modded and you have other cars in the household. H.
