jjs_82
Hi everyone, I have a 98 twin turbo supra jap import and the other day i was fitting a gauge and under the carpet on the drivers side i found a HKS Veriable valve timing controller, and it is working and wired up to the ecu. Does anyone know anything about them or have one?? Thanks.
Kirk
That will be the HKS Valcon if im not mistaken. Its for controlling/tuning the vvti function of the intake cam. Id be tempted to pull off the rocker covers and see if it has HKS cams as well.

jjs_82
did the controller come on its own or was it a kit (with cams)
Kirk
No they dont come as a kit. As i said the unit as far as i understand is programable and used to control and fine tune the VVTi function. Im pretty sure HKS cams have the HKS logo or a mark of some sort on them.
Nic
The cam will have HKS cast into it. HKS Valcon VCam Pro http://www.hks-power.co.jp/products/engine/valcon/img/valconpro_image.jpg

Nic
The kit consists of a higher lift (8.6mm), longer duration (264) intake cam and the electronic control until to control the operation of the VVTi. http://translate.google.co.uk/translate?hl=en&sl=ja&u=http://www.hks-power.co.jp/products/engine/valcon/valcon.html&ei=_PFeTtf2AsKu8gPFuYzEAw&sa=X&oi=translate&ct=result&resnum=1&ved=0CBwQ7gEwAA&prev=/search%3Fq%3Dhttp://www.hks-power.co.jp/products/engine/valcon/valcon.html%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dsafari%26rls%3Den%26prmd%3Divns

Kirk
My advice is dont touch if you dont understand. A mapper familiar with the tech would be your best bet.
Nic
was on looking there but nothing tell you how to set it up and so on I've sold a couple of sets to members on here, they maybe able to advise. I tried getting an English manual a while back but HKS only have in Japanese.
