tbourner
So I've been looking for a Facelift Gen7 Honda Accord 2.0i-VTEC EX (Nav) Tourer for a while and can't find one. Looked at a few diesels as well which are nice, still no deals I can accept though. Plus the fact that repairs on the diesel are so expensive is putting me off. Then this '54 Volvo V70 D5 SE with 48k miles comes up for £7995. Drives very nicely, very solid, service history every 8k from a garage 2 mins down the road from me (literally), he offered me what I wanted in px as well. Anyone know anything about them? Dnk
First thing i do is google the car model for faults, usually shows up the weak areas of most cars. Its nice mileage on the one your looking at but think i'd want it for £500 less
tbourner
It's being sold by a Merc garage who got it in px, they sell other cars as well but mostly Mercs, so that adds 10%
Dnk
Well its a buyers market so try it on, you have nothing to lose
tbourner
Just rang the guy in Bristol selling a 57 Honda Accord i-CTDi EX (Nav+HFT), 88k miles, FHSH with a garage quite local to me! £6989. He's also offered £1k for mine in principle (I've told him all the issues it has) so a grand saved over the Volvo! It's 2 hours drive though so buggered if it breaks within the 3 month warranty, I could use that £1k to buy the 125 I've been looking for though. Double the mileage but the car we really want (can't help thinking within a year I'll be regretting the Volvo). So torn and confused!!! Maybe I should just keep the Delica and buy another Supra - was planning to get one in a few years anyway.
Supragal
Which year did they stop being Volvo and start being Ford?
tbourner
I'm not sure, I've been told the V50 is a Focus underneath, but the V70 is still a Volvo design? We're gonna go with the Honda anyway now I think, and just hope it doesn't suffer with too many of the common problems.
Abz
Go with the Honda, just make sure you look after it! Generally quite reliable, hopefully it will be a good one.
