mattysupra
Hi. Im confused. What injector do i need for a Jap spec supra. i have high flow rail etc and im looking for around 1000cc injectors. But do i need high or low impedance injectors? Or can i buy something to go with the injectors maybe so i can use which ever? Thanks in advance
bignum
Most ecu`s will work with high impedance, you can use low impedance injectors and a resistor pack.
mattysupra
Most ecu`s will work with high impedance, you can use low impedance injectors and a resistor pack. Thanks for the reply. Im still lost tho. Does the jap spec have a resistor pack or not ? which ones do i need on my Jap spec car running a HKS FCON Pro ECU? Why does the supra have a option of high or low impedance injectors?
imi
No it doesnt, the UK one however does.
mattysupra
No it doesnt, the UK one however does. So i need high resistance injectors then on my Jap Spec?
imi
you can always fit a resistor pack to a Jspec if needed.
mattysupra
does anyone have a defo answer for me please. We seem to be going around in circles. Simple question, what injectors do i need to purchase for a JAP SPEC supra. Do i need high or low impedance please?

heckler
It all depends on the ECU... I'm not sure about what the FCON one can drive. Some ECU can handle both types of injector
heckler
According to the HKS website, the FCON can handle both low and high impedance injectors. The Internet is a wonderful thing.
mattysupra
No one has actually answered the question directed. I have been adviced i can get a resitor pack but for what? high or low impedance injectors! Again i will ask a direct question, please forget fitting a resistor pack or of i have a resistor pack or not. ON A JAP SPEC SUPRA WHAT INJECTORS DO THEY USE? high or low impedance? Please correct me here but out of all the replies above no one has answered this question or am i being stupid here?
CanisLupus
No it doesnt, the UK one however does. Imi answered it UK has a resistor pack Jspec doesnt -> Stock ECU takes only High Impedance then.

Thankyou. So with a hKS ECU i dont need to worry. but do we know what injector the jap spec uses as stock?
heckler
The FCON can drive either types without a resistor pack, so doesn't matter which you go for!
heckler
IIRC Jap are high impedance, hence no resistor packs
CanisLupus
Yes they are high impedance ^^
mattysupra
Imi answered it UK has a resistor pack Jspec doesnt -> Stock ECU takes only High Impedance then. He may of answered it for someone knowing if i need a resistor pack with high/low impedance injectors. But is till dont know which injectors go with the injector pack!!! But my question is what injectors does a Jap Spec use? o.k i will ask the question different. I have a jap spec supra. I also have a set of 1200cc injectors that are high impedance. Do i need a resistor pack or not? can i use teh high impedance injectors in my supra or do i need a resistor pack with them as they are high impedance? mattysupra
question answered, thanks the above two ! F-me that was hard. Thanks again
Nic
Stock injectors UK Spec 550cc side feed/low impedance/includes resistor pack. J-spec 440cc side feed/high impedance. Most aftermarket rails fit top feed injectors, it doesn't matter if you fit high or low impedance injectors. If you fit low impedance injectors you will also need to fit a resistor pack, if you fit high impedance injectors you do not need a resistor pack. mattysupra
According to the HKS website, the FCON can handle both low and high impedance injectors. The Internet is a wonderful thing. Just to add to this thread incase someone else search's and arrives here. I have found this in the Manual that states a Resistor is needed. You cant use low impedance injectors without the resistor.
