Rims woes - Update on Pg 3

That's unbeleivable! Hope they sort it quickly and easily!

Well, it took a month for the wheels to manufactured the first time around, so I am guessing the same time..

They want to keep the car for a month, so it seems the damage may be bad...

I have my stock wheels so I will change them over so I can use the car...

How can that happen in a bodyshop? Did they take car for a joy ride? :p Hopefully its not too serious mate .

Not sure, they were fitting my clutch and decats, I think they had to take the car out to another shop to weld the bung for the AFR sensor.. Roads in Japan are very narrow and it is easy to mess up a wheel..

Will go there just now to check the damage.

Just got back, 3 out of 4 rims are scratched on the lips. Being Anodized aluminium, they cannot be repaired, correct?

The guy was putting the car on the ramp, not realising how wide the car is, and that the rims stick out quite a bit, he ground them on the steel protective barriers...

He is an old man, and he was so apologetic I did not have the heart to scream at him..

Anyway, the shop is contacting SSR directly to get the rims swapped out.. There is a possiblilty of them changing the lips only since it is a 3 piece rim, as long as SSR do the job themselves I can accept that.

The shop was very professional abt it, they immediatley agreed to replace the rims.

Lets see what happens...

Seems you cant have anything these days without someone else damaging it.

Good luck getting it sorted chap. :(

Yeah, its the worst feeling, you look after your stuff and someone else screws it up..

But I am getting the best possible result out of the situation so best be happy on that.

Thanks for the comments guys..
