Havard
Wonderful display by Man Utd. This season is going to be boring compared to last season as I can't see anyone offering Utd a game. H.

miles
Man City? +1 I think Man U will get the results when it matters but i think City will be right there until the end, they have some serious players there now!

tomgeer
Hopefully a wake up call for Arsene, why can't he see what the rest of us have known for a long time, his squad wasn't good enough before selling Nasri and Fabregas, i'm sorry but Gervinho and Chamberlain don't cut it, both good additions for the squad but they need some new stars, and badly. I think Paul Merson summed it up today really.

Ian W
You've all summed it up, guys. United were terrific, but we were awful today. Missing players or not, it was embarassing to watch them being torn apart. He has to spend, and spend big and spend now. No more kids, no more 'potential', no more crap like Squillaci etc. I don't see us making the top 4 without big money spent right now and if we don't manage that, Arsene will be on his way. He's done a lot for the club, but enough is enough.

It seems that everyones answer is to throw money about willy nilly...!! I am personally thinking about watching non league football from now on. I went to the Wigan - QPR game yesterday after getting some free tickets, if I had paid I would have been asking for a refund. To see people getting paid more in a week than I get in 5 years is getting a bit much for me as most of them are shite considering they do nothing but play football. H. Kirk
Thats just a stupid thing to say. Yes he is holding back the spending but doesn't mean he should be gone. He's done a lot for the club and had a lot of success but getting rid of Wenger would be a huge mistake IMO. Ive been an Arsenal supporter for 15 years and this is the only time i've seen such a weak performance. I felt sorry for Jenkinson, he had a lot to deal with on his own and with his lack of experience I defiantly think he should of had a lot more support than he got. Overall though a very weak performance.

Havard
Wenger got to go, he is clueless on what to do and how to sort it out. After everything this man has given Arsenal over the last 13 years I find that comment amazing. United have assembled an awesome team, City have bought one and what Chelsea will do is yet to be seen. As a Spurs fan. the realisation of being a poor relation is hard to take but unless there is a salary cap rich teams will just get stronger and the poor teams will go out of business. Football is on it's arse, mainly due to greed.

No one can compete with them so unless the FA bring in such a rule, which they never will, football will be down the pan in no time.

Overall though a very weak performance. I agree, Jenkinson, for me was Arsenal's best player in terms of effort, the rest of the defenders and midfielders were shocking, Djourou isn't too bad when he's got Vermaelen telling him what to do, without him he's useless. Wenger just needs to swallow his pride and buy the players he needs regardless of the over inflated prices, sign Cahill, sign Jagielka, sign Hazard and you could do alot worse than Scott Parker too. I think Frimpong will become a good player fairly quickly as cover for Song. I also believe Man City are ruining it for everyone else with their ridiculous wage packets on offer but it's not something new, AC Milan, Real Madrid and Barcelona have been doing it for years and it wasn't long ago Chelsea were a mid table team. Its 6 of one and half a dozen of the other, either spend some money on experienced quality players and stay in the top four, or drop into the running for the Europa league at best instead and probably lose more money than you would signing the 2 or 3 decent players we desperately need. Who knows anything about this Park Chou-Young that is rumoured to be signing? his goals to games ratio dosn't look all that impressive to me but i've never seen him play. I'm also concerned it will upset any negotiations that may be going on for Hazard's services.

Abz
I don't class City as a team. They have been bought not developed..!! Sounds like most clubs in the Premiership! We seem to forget clubs like United were also big spenders & back in the day would have encounter the same response. Remember reading in the papers the first £10 million sign were from clubs like United. Since then we have now clubs like City & Chelsea are doing the same & this is what the game has come too. I support Millwall & I am really hoping we can join the Premiership & show these big clubs how it is done! The difference in the level of football played between leagues aren't a huge difference, teams have good games & bad that's life, so many variables involved can alter the performance in games. I am hoping that we can show these big clubs that you can have a team without spending millions or just throwing money at the game. Though other clubs are to blame as well outside the Premier League. http://www.caughtoffside.com/2011/04/21/chelsea-pay-the-highest-wages-in-the-premier-league/

I'm not saying just throw money about willy nilly. Wenger keeps saying, "if we can find someone to improve this team...". Well I'm sorry, but if you can't improve on chamakh, djourou, koscielny, traore, Denilson (albeit he's gone now), Diaby, rosicky, arshavin etc then something is far wrong. The club continually penny pinch to the point where they lose out on transfer targets for the sake of 'a couple of million' (a lot to us, but not in the world of football). Lest we forget that although Arsenal are paying for the Emirates, its virtually paying for itself by virtue of increased gate receipts etc. We've sold players for lots of money in the last few years (adebayor? Hleb? Nasri, fabregas and clichy this year) and I've yet to see that money reinvested appropriately on strengthening the team. Instead we buy kids with potential, third tier grade players who've gone a bit wayward or free agents like chamakh. I read this morning that spuds are going to go for Cahill. If he goes there instead of Arsenal, then I (as well as most arsenal fans I would imagine) will be fuming. /rant
