Abz
So sad, especially as his family was there too That civic at SupraPod lost it at the end & was heading towards the barriers, how he saved that is beyond. Brown pants moment, I honestly thought he was going to crash. Just goes to show how dangerous it can be even in a straight line.

Makes you appriciate the drivers like StuartW and JP etc for the terminals they do, just because its a straight line does not make it totally safe at their HP

marc_p
As some one else has pointed out, at York you run with a damp track and also the track is super slippy against normal tarmac. Even when TOTB was running we had to 'tell' them to glue the whole track as they only wanted to prep the 1st half. Also i think others that have run there that the track itself is not in the best condition, especially when you get towards the top end. There is no hair dryer. Infact there is no barriers either to keep you on the track. If something goes wrong you end up in a field. This was York Raceway fella, different place to Elvington, which is where TOTB is held. RIP to the driver though

Holden1989
Thats awful, I cant begin to think about how his family must be feeling. I was at Brands Hatch whena MR2 flew over the safety fence, seriously scary stuff - then had to watch Robs brother race in the race afterwards. Things like this certainly put things into perspective. RIP and thoughts are with his family and friends
MONKEYmark
sad news to lose a life and so young.i was going to go to that event but weather did not look good so did other things.i crashed mine up there on wet track i was fine just felt an idiot at the time.it is a run down track against santapod but its only localish trak. its starange as before you can race you have to get your car checked over and have to wear helmets at all times.where at santapod they dont check cars over and if i rember u dont have to wear helmets unless in convertable. sad to see anyone die doing what they love
