Im going to test drive an evo 5 at the weekend. However i dont quite get the differance between the 5 and 6? also the tommy mak ones.

I will sign up to the owners club but i figured some of you must have had evos or know about them.

I understand the 4s suffer crank walk.

Here is a link fella to the MLR comparison table I did own an evo8 it was a good car but be warned they are not as strong as you would think and in no way a match for the supras reliability Tommy's are sometimes referred to as 6.5's and are best in almost stock form as thats how they hold there premium.

Hope this helps Chris

Ps be prepared for astronomical servicing prices as they need service every 4500 miles as well as a standard service 10000 miles.

TBF i sold my Supra (that i'd had for 7 years) for an Evo FQ-320. I loved it for about 5 minutes.. but i personnaly (don't want to get shot down here) found it was just dull as the car does everything for you. I'm not saying it was slow - far from it, and it handled ridiculously well but i just found i missed the rear wheel drive feel.

The other note is the cost.. It's ridiculous - If i remember rightly i think i lost about 4k on the car and only had it 2.5 months. Tyres, Brake Pads, Service, tracker, another service.. Yaw fluid....

I'm sorry i'm not much help on the question that you asked - but i think you'd be better asking on the MLR forum - they were very helpfull when i was on there.

Craig.

My car sees less than 3k a year anyway. I will take a good look around mlr owners club hope they are nice...

They fall short of a lot less than a Supra bud. I went from an Evo V RS to an MR2 turbo with 12 less HP and that was 4 years older. The difference was night and day, the MR2 was a complete breath of fresh air. I'll never have an evo again. All the other 4wd "rally" cars fall into the same bracket for me.

You can't beat rear wheel and id pick the sup over any 4 wheel however the evos are still lovely cars

They lost their appeal for me when the 7 was born.

If my hand was forced it would be an Evo6 TME in black. Evo V is the lightest & fastest at that power, also the most agressive IMO but the VI edges it in the "beauty" stakes.

Prior to owning one, I loved them. I can't stand them now.
