Suprash
As some of you may know, I have a website called ashleywillis.net. Well it was originally started by someone who wanted to sponsor me but when it came to payment he basically ended up meesing me around for 2 rounds before eventually pulling out all together leaving me a good few hundred quid down. But during the early stages before he pulled out, he reckoned he could sell ice to Eskimos and said he could secure decent money sponsorship. I agreed to let him try after we agreed he would get a percentage of anything secured as a finders fee. To aid him in finding sponsorship he came up with the idea of putting a site together. So I bought the domain name and he put up a fairly standard blog layout with wordpress to manage it. After he failed to pay his agreed amount at Round 1, I gave hime another payment option throughout the year which again he promised to stick too but ended up making excuse after excuse. After he pulled out competely I continued with the site, updating it further, filling it with more content which took a good few hours, but it was looking good after a few rounds, which for those that saw it Im sure would agree. Anyway a couple of weeks ago Em noticed his website which is selling Forza credits was still advertising that he sponsored me, and in his gallery he was not only showing pictures from several rounds he had never paid sponsorship towards but also pics of Em washing the car which wasnt taken until well after he pulled out all together, so he was clearly still pulling newer photos from FB and the web and using them on his site. This obviously annoyed me a little, so I text him asking him to remove all media and any mention of sponsoring me on his site as this was clearly not the case. Anyway to cut a long story short he got shitty, logged into my site and basically deleted everything, so I lost all my round by round reports. So I now need to get this back up and running, but am a little unsure of a few things. First of, where does wordpress sit in relation to the site itself ? Obviosuly I have a domain name that I can FTP into, which currently has just one page displaying the 'come back soon' page. I have also been struggling to FTP to this site but suspect this is because Im trying it within work and the firewalls are getting in the way, I'll probably be able to get an FTP connection once I try it from home, Im fairly confident with FTP and have used it before. I have a copy of the blog template that I was using, and a copy of wordpress, but was wondering if there are any web guru's out there that could just help me get the basics back together. Thankfully Google cache has all my content so it will just be a case then of copy and pasting the text back into each report and figuring out what pics I used as obviously google cache doesnt save this side of things. Im happy to advertise/sticker someones site/url in return for a bit of help on this or if anyone can help in regards of getting it listed fairly high within google or any other general basic web admin type stuff as my web/html stuff is so basic and out of date now it appears Im struggling lol. heckler
from what I can work out, the Wordpress program/script uploads the blog to there server, which in turn is displayed on you website... I could probably get it up and running, but I expect there are some web gurus on here with a bigger/better insight than me!

Purity14
I would if I had time, but what I will say is make sure you copy your content from google cache as fast as possible, and it could be taken down at any point - just save it in word/notepad for the time being to retain the text. stevie_b
Sorry to hear about this Ash. This kind of stuff really annoys me: wide-boys who back out of their obligations and then get shirty. I don't have any experience of blogs, but Purity's idea is good one and something you should do ASAP. Edit: looks like Google's cache from 10th Aug only has the simple splash page too. Thorin
You'll need the MySQL database name and password if it still exists, or to create a new database if not. Looks like you're hosted with one.com? Should be an online admin panel to create a MySQL database I believe. You'll then need to extract the contents of the wordpress zip file to your website folder, and access http://ashleywillis.net/wordpress/ following the instructions to install. Angarak
Have you checked if your hosting package included daily backups of your website? If so, you may be able to get your hosting provider to restore the last 'working' version of your website before the sabotage.
