Odin
Hi guys im near the end of an n/a - tt transplant..i havent had much experience with this sort of thing before and have been getting help from the mechanics at the garage im using, ive managed to get this far using guides from here etc but i have a few final connections/hoses which i cant figure out for the life of me.. If anyone knows what these are and can describe where they go i would really appreciate that as i would like to get it out of the garage asap Many thanks in advance... there are these bullet connectors which run off the connection from the manifold (02 sensor??) where do these connect to? This hose which i believe is coming from the throttle body? not sure where this goes? This long hose which i believe is a breather but again not sure where it goes? These 2 connectors which are coming from the lump just near the intake? This nozzle near the power steering pump?cant seem to find a hose to go to it? And these 4 hoses - I think 2 are for the power steering reservoir which im waiting for but where do the rest go?? Thanks again for any advice - i may not know much about cars but at least im learning and the forums and guides have been a massive help James

EMPEROR
Hello James, Hopefully this will help you for the vacuum lines: This is for the power steering: These 2 connectors which are coming from the lump just near the intake? About this pic... those two look like the ones that goes on the water pump neck.
Guest George89
I done a NA-TT conversion recently, If you have an iphone we could do facetime and go through them all 1 by 1. I can use my car to see where all the wires go too if you can't get it done by the diagram

Odin
This is great advise thanks diagrams should be really helpful..George i have an Iphone 3gs will that work as i thought i may have to be an iphone 4?I managed to wire the majority of it up today although there is a suspicious looking 4pin connector which I found at the front of the engine on the intake side - poss for the 02 sensor in the previous pics, when I tried to fire the car up it turned over but wouldn't spark on further investigation it seems there is no power to the coil packs, another problem I have is the ecu is a toms 3plug ecu and when all the plugs are in the correct place I'm left with an extra plug similar size to those on the ecu,I'm wondering whether this one is for a throttle control ecu which I read on the forums wasn't needed for 5spd manual? Odin
Was just wondering whether there is anyone near the stockport/manchester area with a tt that would be willing to let me examine their engine for an hour or so? - Any auto electricians in the same area? Odin
Hi guys me again Im still having trouble getting my car to spark seems i dont have power to my coil packs and there are still a few plugs not connected There is this 4 pin plug connector coming off the loom at the front on the intake side - could this be to connect the lamda sensor from manifold? but if it was i would have thought the connector would also have bullet connectors? Also after plugging the loom into the toms ecu (both came from same car) i have found that i have an extra plug from the loom slightly smaller than those on the ecu? i think this may be for a throttle control ecu but im told i dont need one when running a 5 spd manual - is this correct? and finally this little plug here pics not great but its a single pin plug on the intake side coming off loom near the front, the wiring forks into 2 another plug is plugged in nearby so there really isnt far that it can possibly travle but i cant find the place to plug it haha Many thanks guys sorry to keep pestering you all
Andy Blyth
The 4-pin connector is for the stock lambda sensor; the stock lamdba sensor should have a mating connector, not bullets. The 40 pin ECU connector and the traction control connector are very similar - possibly even the same. You can identify the ECU connector as the one with a black/orange wire going to pin 1. I've got a feeling the single pin connector mates with a connector on the steering rack. The mating half is on the end of a short wire rather than being fixed to the rack. I remember only being able to get to it from below.
Odin
Thanks for this info Andy it will be really useful when i get back into the garage. Although i still cant understand why the lambda sensor would be on bullet connectors when the original connection plug is still there but i guess i can just splice the wires together. Regarding this 40 pin connector from the loom (either throttle control ecu or traction control)is it needed if im running on 5spd manual or can i just isolate it and keep it out of the way? Many thanks as always James
Andy Blyth
The throttle control ECU is the traction control ECU. The connector can be left disconnected on a manual.
Odin
Thanks again for that info Andy Does anyone have any idea of the possible causes of not getting power to any of the coil packs?seem to have power to everything else and the ecu came with the engine so that shouldn't be the cause the igniter pack is properly connected and the only things that aren't connected shouldn't affect it sparking many thanks james
Andy Blyth
The 12V supply to the coilpacks and the igniter come from pin 1 of the grey connector in the footwell. See if there's voltage on this pin with the ignition on. See here.
JODY T
Andys correct, chances are it's not plugged in I've done the same in the past lol
Odin
There wasnt voltage to pin1a and the relay wasnt turning on it does start if i bridge the relay with a clip or run a 12v feed from the battery to the pin but even when i do this there is still some electrical problem as many of the dash lights are not showing when i start the car,I think im going to have to try and get some money together and get a decent supra specialist to come and take a look. As mentioned earlier in the thread my lambda sensor connectors are different: I need to splice these wires together but there is 2 black,1 Blue and 1 white wire on the lambda sensor and on the mating connector there is 1 black and red,1 blue, one which is like brown/yellow and one which is white/cream does anyone happen to know which wires need to be spliced to which? Many thanks James
