johnny g
Once the moulds are made running more copies off isn't going to be a problem. It's getting decent moulds made. Why can't you find out where the stuff in the photo came from and see if they will do more of them, or even sell the moulds? I've contacted the companies
hodge
Looking at the pic again. I recon they've used a stock airbox fitted 2 pipes to it, smoothed it over and carbon skinned it.
Angarak
As its most likely a one off, the owner of the car probably owns the mould as opposed to the company that produced the composite...otherwise Im sure others on here would have had them by now. The mould is more time consuming than producing the composite itself. First there is the time spent to create the shape, then the time made to create, trim, polish and prep the mould for production, then you have to create the composite itself and then trim that. I'd imagine with those curves on top that if that is a real CF panel it was done under vacuum as carbon is stiff in the direction of the weave and doesnt 'sit' well on bends without being vac bagged or having a layer of GF over the top...which defeats the purpose of having a true CF panel. I wouldnt be suprised if the customer paid £1000+ for that taking into account time and materials.
scotty71
There's a dude up the road from me just bought an M3. It's got a carbon airbox in it he has a receipt for it for a grand. That's totally crazy money if you ask me. says the man with the megamoney build
