Swampy442
Thats really tasty J. I could make it, but its making the moulds thats the bitch
Stevo
Yeah, as above - I could give it a shot but the time involved with the moulds would be considerable and therefore also costly!

ManwithSupra
I'm going to say nearer £700 maybe more. The amount of work required to get a basic mould sorted and polished as a one off takes hours in itself. If you consider a carbon Fmic cover costs around £150 odd and that's for a real basic flat shape, when you start adding major 3d shapes to carbon and getting it to look good multiple moulds are needed. I'd agree, between £700 - 1,000 is my guess. I remember seeing Carbon airboxes on the Honda S2000 & they were £1200!!!
hodge
There's a dude up the road from me just bought an M3. It's got a carbon airbox in it he has a receipt for it for a grand. That's totally crazy money if you ask me.
Noz
you wud need to make the shape, build a mould around it, try it in fibreglass then carbon fibre. i might be up for trying this. once i finish my current fibreglass project.
Noz
u cud put a gel coat on the mould then carbon over it with resin. cf resin £££££ . rather than shape the carbon itself. an.idea?
Noz
you cud get sheet metal cut up in stages to help make this design, do section every few inchs to give u gradual changes. group buy!
Chris Wilson
Once the moulds are made running more copies off isn't going to be a problem. It's getting decent moulds made. Why can't you find out where the stuff in the photo came from and see if they will do more of them, or even sell the moulds?
