Guest Ice
Brand new member here, finally have the funds to at least begin to tamper in the world of the supra! Looking to replace my 94 Celica GT coupe and get it on with my dream car xD Anyways... There is a dealership near me with an all stock, 100k miles 1997 4speed auto Supra NA hardtop. It's extremely clean and looks to be in great condition (at least aesthetically). I am going to actually go see it in person very soon and would like to know what I should look for in terms of how it feels while driving, how it sounds and all that jazz - so I can tell the difference between a big red flag and the usual wear and tear, and how much I should pay for it (though it has always been my dream car I'm sure I'll pay more than I should if I absolutely must). The car fax is clean and it has had 2 previous owners, no receipts on oil changes and whatnot. And I understand I should just save for a TT and all that jazz but I'm interested in making this a loooooong project car or at least my first supra to learn with, besides I don't have the money for a decent TT Edited August 21, 2011 by Ice (see edit history)
scotty71
you will find that prices over here in the UK are alot different to those over in the States. Perhaps copy n paste this in your local area on Supraforums As to what to look for etc you can print this off http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?67644-What-to-check-when-buying-a-Supra Welcome Scotty

scotty71
Take a look at the guide on what to look for. Print it off and use when viewing any potential purchase. Use your common sense as well ie: low mileage car with very worn pedals / steering wheel / handbrake would to me be suspicious etc
imi
You'll have to define what you mean by jazz..
Guest Ice
"...save for a TT and all that Jazz" could be replaced with "...save for a TT because of X reason why the NA isn't worth getting" Seen too many threads turn into something of an argument and derail. Thanks for that link by the way, great stuff! Oh and uhhh... Where exactly is the chassis number?
