Tyson
I used to use my dads stands but he only had two and always lends them to his brothers !!! One of them has had them for god knows how long so I have been using just the trolley jack which isn't ideal to say the least !!! So I am going to purchase some and wanted to know which ones to get, will be getting a set of four.
Suprab1
I have the halford 3 ton axel stands & can't fault them. Although i find mysef using my other set more as they are ratchet stands & the halfords set you will have to pull the pin out & in each time for use, but that's just me being lazy lol. Tyson
I have found this what do people think ? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/DRAPER-2-TON-HEAVY-DUTY-AXLE-STAND-JACK-TONNE-LIFT-4-PK-/250655180330?pt=UK_Lifting_Moving_Equipment&hash=item3a5c36862a This may sound stupid but what are the differences between the axle stands apart from max weight? I dont get what you mean, each jack can take 2 tonnes, so thats 8 tonnes between them if that helps. Thats exactly what i have! Draper seem to be a good company, and these are really good quality! heres some pics of me using them through the years... http://a8.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/207045_2000747415288_1141640031_4042074_1328491_n.jpg http://a3.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/206400_2000750855374_1141640031_4042087_3133300_n.jpg http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/282170_2296660772937_1141640031_4409640_558798_n.jpg http://a7.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/223690_2296660932941_1141640031_4409641_7963452_n.jpg Ive now got me a 3 tonne trolley jack to, so i can get the stands under the chassis rails....instead of using the sills as the toyota jack dosent give enough height to get them under the rails! hth
Tyson
sorry crap wording on my part I meant between manufacturers, are you just paying for the name? Where are the best jacking point ? Don't really want to use the stock location as it will just make a mess as its designed for the stock jack
evinX
Id go for a top brand, youd want good quality ones tbh, strong metal + welding etc, i know Sealey are good, Draper, Halfords professional rage of tools are great but have seen their stands on the shelf and look cheapish compared to my chunky drapers ones, thats just my opinion, never used them. Jacking points attatched, my supra is currently jacked up as we speak, can pop down and take a look around if it was to help!
