dangerous brain
What you have to remember is that the game they play is hugely dangerous (I'd say its more dangerous than combat flight) They know it and despite best efforts (the technicians that work on those aircraft all have to operate a rank below their trade qualifications for instance) things can still go wrong. It's a testament to the man and the rest of his type that he lost his life because he held the aircraft from smashing into castle point if local reports are to be believed. To also add backing to that we serviced and overhauled the Red Arrows Adour engines for years (Rolls-Royce EK).

Littler
I was in Bournemouth watching the Air Show yesterday and they were brilliant as always, its really sad to here whats happened!
ManwithSupra
Was at the air show today, very sad news It is a dangerous job though, while it is very sad, the pilots and their family's have to prepare themselves for the risk they take. News reports state that the pilot sent a mayday before hitting the ground where it bounced 3 times and came to a rest, the pilot was thrown from the plane. So obviously not pilot error but sounds like a major system failure on the plane. Thoughts and best wishes go out to the families of the pilot, and at least he went out doing something he loved. What a Master of the sky!!
