bignum
Pretty sure top secret in japan did this, it`d be alot of work i think as the exhaust/ inlet is on the opposite side of the engine compared to a 2jz, also not sure there would be any benefits, maybe less reliable. AlexM
I've seen one on youtube, no idea what it'd take or why you'd do it though!
Swampy442
With enough money and time you can fit anything to anything. Question is why bother?
Bailey.
I wouldn't trade a 2jz for a rb engine any day of the week, so as above, what's the full story behind the question?
letmeshowyou
Same as everyone else ahas said. You could, it's been done, but really what's the point? (unless of course you go the whole way and transplant the 4WD system too!)
tkddav3
yeah top secret did one in thier white supra. id still say stick with the 2jz thoughhhhh
a98pmalcolm
Conversions are never impossible but the 2JZ engine is better than the RB26 engine ..
Ricky49
I would never take a skyline engine over a 2jz gte. I would like to put one in the wifes qashqai though
dubz
thanks for the replys the reason why i asked is because i could get the engine cheaper than a 2jzgt engine but i guess il jst stick to the supra engine
Kirk
Even the 1JZ is a better engine than the RB26 IMO. There a lot cheaper than a 2JZ.
dubz
i dnt meen to be a pain but i was looking at the 1jz engines and they much cheaper to buy but when it comes to fitting one is it as simple as fitting a 2jz engineEven the 1JZ is a better engine than the RB26 IMO. Swampy442
Hang on, you wanted to put the RB in instead of the JZ GTE because it was cheaper? I had to read that twice to make sure I wasnt seeing things

You may need to change the sump as well but that's not a hard task.

I had to read that twice to make sure I wasnt seeing things The ebay belt kits are also cheaper though. Long term savings. These things just crowbar in and work anyway. Couple of decent fixings and it'll be good to go.
rob wild
They're both good engines in there own right, I would say that the 2JZ is a new design and has a heavier and stiffer crank and block. Although from a driving point of view I do enjoy the high revving ability of my RB. Just IMO
j_jza80
They're quite different in their character. I'd say the RB is a nicer sounding engine (just) but nowhere near as tough and MUCH more expensive to tune for big power. Ie, tuning an RB for a reliable 600hp requires a lot more work. supracars
There is a 1jz engine/ turbo plus loom on ph right now for 380, that would be a better option.
TubbyTwo
Im not sure the words 'Supra' and 'cheap' go in the same sentence. If you cant afford to fit a TT engine, then leave it NA IMO.
