Samurai 20V
Hi guys... I have been researching the option of using the F-Con V Pro on my Supra when I export the car back to South Africa. Reason being there is a HKS dealer and it is the most popular in Japan for these cars.. I have a question about mapping for altitude. The HKS dealer is situated in Johannesburg which is 1700m above sea level, where I live in Durban on the coast and this is where the car will spend 99% of its time. The dealer says that I need to map the car in Johannesburg, fit an HKS altitude compensation device and then remap at the coast. Can anybody confirm this? With mapping at the equivalent 550GBP a pop, I was hoping to map the car once and get it over with. Does the F-Con not have ability to accommodate for altitude on its own? Thks. Wez
Sounds like rubbish to me, why map it in the wrong place, fit some device and then map it again, surely just map it for where you are going to use it

The Fcon does not have a Barometric pressure sensor fitted on the board so cant compensate without adding an external sensor. I would suggest getting the mapper to fit a baro sensor, mapping the car and just tweaking it when in its new location as its only a 2D table which needs trimming. Your external boost controller will need tweaking as well. Ryan

The version I was looking at was the 3.1... Is that ok, what is the difference with the newer versions?
