Soopra
how much is your MR2?
pedrosixfour
Not a bad price either. Can't imagine the weight distribution as to good though The car is mid engined Brad, all the weight is spread between the two axles, you could (theoretically) drop a V12 Merlin in there and it wouldn't upset the distribution. Jamesy
how much is your MR2? Here you go mate http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?251206-MR2-GT-Coupe-2.0-UK-Spec-lots-of-goodies!!
benedwards64
The v6 is a popular conversion on these, and it's really rather good. As far as I know there's not a lot of difference in weight between the two engines.

Guest tony1979
I had an mr2 gts turbo a few years ago very very fun to drive like a big go kart and very tail happy, would love to see the handling on that with a 3litre engine sitting behind you,
Swampy442
JohnnyG has one of those, turbo'd.

I know it's mid engined but even as standard they are more arse end happy than a TT supra! So slipping this in will surely make things worse?? Bailey.
Very heavy on the arse on the limit IMO,
David P
MR2 V6 was made by Mr. T and he sold a few but they didn't handle very well, only sold in Japan.
Scott
JohnnyG has one of those, turbo'd. Pretty sure he got rid of that when it tried to kill him and Ryan? MR2s are not in any way shape or form tail happy. They grip like they are on rails but the limit on them is a very fine line between driving heaven and driving death. If you push them even the slightest bit over the edge they will snap on you and spin you into a ditch. The Supra lets you know it's about to give and then gives you a couple of tenths to get things in order before trying to kill you. MR2s are excellent track cars. Scott
MR2 V6 was made by Mr. T and he sold a few but they didn't handle very well, only sold in Japan. Really? I've never heard that before. Did a google search but couldn't find anything on it. Any links to the info? Would make an interesting read
David P
Maybe they were made but not put into production because of the handling I will ask Bob to clarify when I next see him.
hemmjonny
MR2 are great cars nice to drive fast and handle really well (i would not say they are arse end happy) but likse Scott said they can bite. I have never seen or heard of a V6 MR2 from Mr T. Theres a guy up north somewhere he does good converstions think he is call paul woods or somthing. Dan_Turism0
it's got the wrong v6 should have put the 2GR-FE in
pedrosixfour
I know it's mid engined but even as standard they are more arse end happy than a TT supra! So slipping this in will surely make things worse?? Not worse, just different! MR2s are never happy with their arse out. They are a grip configuration and the only time the rear is happy is when it is following in the tracks of the front tyres, usually at a pace that would scare the bejesus out of you. kill1308
MR2 V6 was made by Mr. T and he sold a few but they didn't handle very well, only sold in Japan. That was in the MK1 MR2 and I didn't think it ever made it into production, just prototype stage. I've never heard of a MK2 MR2 V6 outside of those that have been converted. I'm happy to be proved wrong, but I don't think a JDM V6 MR2 existed dude
TubbyTwo
production MR2s in SW20 guise for the public were (unless TRD specials 2.2 na etc) all either 2l NA 3SGE engines or the 2l 3SGTE turbo engines. All changed slightly through various revisions, power went up etc but they remained 2l. the 3L used int he conversions is usually from the Toyota Camrys seems very popular, said to have the same power as a stock rev 2 turbo. I miss my MR2, it really was a lot of fun on track, as long as you didnt make any major adjustments mid corner it was fine lol.
Guest Nicknackwack
I recently sold my MR2 Mk2 Rev3 G-Limited. The tail snappy rumours were true with the earlier versions but as Rev editions evolved the snappy tails declined. 4-Wheel alignement and Yoko tyres also helped ! As for MR2's with V6's, tubby is right. They did come from Camry's. Generally it was a straight forward drop it in job and could be done for about £1.2K at most. There was recently one for sale on Pistonheads and they did a feature on one: http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default.asp?storyId=24125 Great cars MR2's
The Raven
I had a rev 1 mk2. The thing was deadly, Any kind of water on the road and it was sideways
