Guest kenblockseal
Is anyone on here running uprated steel propshafts? I took my prop to a propshaft maker in glasgow today to get uprated, and the guy was saying he made the prop in CRD's race car when it was manual, Guy was telling me about the drawbacks of going carbon and chromealloy. Im going for a steel 2.5 inch 1 peice shaft with uprated ends on it. The guys say it will be pretty much indestrucable, So i will need to put it too the test. Kenny. Geo
not heard of anyone using steel bud, i know a few are running the carbon ones on here though, so far non have failed. Best way is to get it made then test it, suppose what your going to be putting through it power wise??

Guest kenblockseal
Geo, im not too sure on power yet, the car will most likely be at various states of tune, and that last thing i wanted was to go to crail and keep twisting props, A few of my friends run Evos in the SSC at knockhill and ive seen them wreck carbon props by stones hitting them. Cheers for the links jamie & paul, I never even thought of looking at your site paul on the hunt for one of these, as the place is local to me, If the one ive had made fails i will order one from you. cheers, Kenny. Ark
Yeah I've seen a carbon driveshaft explode on track before - they only take a little bit of rubbing before they give up! In that instance it was probably a bad installation mind.
