Homer
I've been doing a bit of clearing out and found some old bank books. Some have only £20-£50 in, but this was in the early 80's. They're in my name, but is it even possible to claim money from accounts this old? I've had a bit of a read on moneysavingexpert but couldn't find any clear answers... The banks have all long since been taken over by others (e.g National Savings Bank, which was part of the old post office)
sdistc
You could always call the new bank and ask their advice? Failing that, a balaclava and a replica pistol should be enough for a "withdrawal".

Abz
Well you should be still entitled to that money, I'd get in contact with the new owners as mention above, could be worth a few hundred pounds!
Havard
If you have the account number and can prove you are in fact Homer, there is no reason you would be denied the cash..!!
