2001 MGF VVC in Tahita blue

Recommended Posts

Bought this in April for a nice summer car, but now looking for a bit of a change.

50,000 miles

Half leather interior, VVC (Variable Valve Control) 145 BHP model, special VVC only alloys.

MOT til May 2012, Tax til Nov 2011

Recently had suspension pump up, both cambelts, water pump, tensioners, and aux belt done.

Full underbody reseal/wax

New sports exhaust, replacement hood.

Drives well and not too bad at all on fuel, averaging around 35 mpg (mix of town use on weekends and long run weekends)

Few age related marks, parks weekdays in a busy multistory so has a few dings on the door as you often get with age. Drivers bolster is a bit worn but otherwise car is in good condition.

EDIT - Now Looking for £1300 ono. PM me, email me at [email protected] or call me on 01709 544623 (Home) or 07725 147993

Only got a couple of pics which are attached

I bet half the emails were about head gaskets? Numpties!

Mother in law has one and loves it, she is a qualified hairdresser though :taped: , I'd have it as a fun car if I had space/money.

Yes mate they were, despite me putting in the advert that the Mk2 MGF doesnt have the same head gasket issues, and the VVC definately doesnt!

Iv loved driving it, although only really had the top down maybe 5 or 10 days, I work shifts and drop it on the way home quite often as a chill out :)

I think it is highly likely to be a new lady owner. Although its the 145 bhp VVc its really not what you would call fast unless you were graduating from a basic first car kinda thing.

Wow - that's cheap Rob.

As for head gaskets, our '53 plate MG ZR 105 went this year at 60k miles. Sad but true. Not a difficult job to do though.

Hi Pete, not seen you on here for ages! :)

I know, lots of car for the money. Yeah the HG on even some newer MG/Rover engines still go even now, but the VVC is not nearly so susceptible as the earlier cars were.

You tried mg-rover.org? Granted it's never normally productive selling on the owners club, but potential owners do sometimes appear looking for info.

Just had a look, but id have to pay a sub, and to be fair, there are already 2 unsold VVC's on there (although £400 more and with an extra 10k miles) but thanks for the suggestion.
