Conrad
I went to the States last June and there was an uproar at the pumps because 'gas' had been put up to as much as $1.95 a gallon! That's approx £1.10 a gallon (22p a litre?). I've just got back from the States again this year and the cheapest I saw it was $2.13 a gallon. That's almost a quarter of what we pay! I once saw the MD of BP or Shell on the news when we had that petrol crisis a few years back. Apparently the British have the cheapest petrol in Europe from the suppliers, it's just our Governments tax which makes it so expensive to the actual consumer! Doesn't make you feel any better though does it!

Nick
Holland is about 95p for Shell Optimax or Texaco Super and Belgium is a few pence cheaper, depending how close you are to the border. In Thailand it's 35p a litre and that was on an Island....!!
