C_Strike
Hey all, as with title. Car is due its MOT... unfortunately i have no cats. Its a custom one piece exhaust so cant just buy the cats, i need the whole system. Am looking to buy/ borrow a full system to get my car through the MOT. I would happily buy a standard system, but will take an aftermarket if it gets me through the MOT.. I have money waiting so can make payment as soon as. Would need to be local or COURIER, depending on location. Ps > its a GZ 93 TT... im not sure how true it is, but i think i remember reading something about there being no documentation regarding emmisions for import models of pre-95 so many MOT places pass it anyway?? dont know if there is truth behind that, if thats the case that may resolve the issue cheers
Guest horny_devil
as far as im aware, imports dont have to have an emission test :S
vertex
I think it needs to be pre 91 in order to get away with high emissions. any decent exhaust place could cut a sports cat into your current system. then its up to you If you want to remove it again. Scott
Can you not just bung the MOT guy a score and be done with it?

ilicos
Only a pre July 95' NA is exempt. The GTE engine (TT) is subject to emmissions testing.
straightsix
If it fits I have a 2nd cat and stainless back system from an N/A. Am I right in thinking they're the same after the first cat?

-Welsh-Stealth-
If it fits I have a 2nd cat and stainless back system from an N/A. Am I right in thinking they're the same after the first cat? i believe so...have just fitted a na-t and the only difference is the downpipe and Nics manifold i used to have that replaced the 1st cat.but from the 2nd cat and cat back should all be the same!? manny
Check out my post no.4 in the linked thread, its an email I got from VOSA after having to put a cat back in for my MOT last year. I printed it out and took it to the same MOT center this year and they passed it no problem. I'm guessing its the same for a GZ, and hopefully they haven't changed the rules yet! http://www.mkivsupra.net/vbb/showthread.php?217420-BPU-MOT-with-double-decat&p=2753924#post2753924
