He can't get down to view the car but wants to transfer half the money £600 ish and arrange someone to collect. He said the transfer will take a few hours and can sent it when i ask. The bank said he has no way of getting the money back out of my account but it all seems a bit odd to me and need a bit more advise. Charlotte Posted August 11, 2011 Share Posted August 11, 2011 He can pay £25 (ish) and make a chaps payment which is direct to another bank account the same day - if you make the transfer before noon or thereabouts. Ark Posted August 12, 2011 Share Posted August 12, 2011 I don't see the problem here - most retail banks are on the fast-pay network now, so a balance transfer from him to you will be done in a matter of minutes via the Internet and you can see as much. This isn't some shonky pay-pay type scheme here, so he can't extract the money back again.
