Scott
I'm looking to get some ducting. The only trouble is I need it to hold its shape. The only thing I can think of to describe what I'm after is the neck of a straw. I'm looking for ducting that I can sculpt into a shape and it will hold. Any ideas what I should be searching for? All the flexible ducting I can find is floppy
pedrosixfour
I got some flexible ducting at my local motor factors to use as a fresh air feed into the cabin that held whatever shape you made of it. It was made from something almost like a narrow strip of very heavy guage tin foil and it was coiled almost like one of those flexible lengths of exhaust pipe, if you get my meaning. It suited the job perfectly but it was exactly cheap if I remember correctly. I have it out in the garage, I'll take a snap of it so you can see if its the type of thing you are after. d-_-b
Know it might sound a little odd (and might be a bit large a diameter for what you are after) but the tubing that is used to "link up" toilets to the soil pipe is "straw like" in its bendyness, but holds when you curve it & the tube itself is quite hard - so no 'floppyness' : D Not sure if thats of any use dude? : D Edit: Pedro's ducting sounds a better option tho lol
bodilx6
What are your plans with it? Sounds interesting. Please post pics of what you find
Guigsy
You can get it at bnq. Plumbing section. Think you can get it in ally or plastic Or viper performance sell it but not sure how stiff it is. It's thinnish silicone pipe with wire coiled arround. http://www.viperperformance.co.uk/subcats.php?xctId=
pedrosixfour
This is the stuff, bear in mind that it is still quite delicate and once it deforms thats pretty much the shape you are left with. There are absolutely no identifying marks on it so I can help you on the name of it but at least you now know such a thing exists! This is an old piece obviously, the new stuff would look a lot tidier.

I was just at B&Q looking at the options. All they had that would suit my needs was a small waste pipe. It wasn't long enough though, and because of the fittings on it they wanted silly money for it, for what it was. What are your plans with it? Sounds interesting. That stuff from viperperformance looks ideal.... hopefully it holds its shape (it looks like it might). I'll have a look around a few of the places to see if they have anything like it
