bonnet release

Ok ive searched the forum for the answer but have not had any luck. I've been fitting a do-luck bumper today, got it almost 100% then closed the bonnet to see if it all lined up. went to pull the lever to open it back up and its very slack. I've taken off the bonnet pull lever, and used some plyers to pull on the cable but that didnt work. As i've got a FMIC i cant even get my hand up to where the white little box is. I can get the left side of the bonnet open a little and see the latch is over the hook, i used a very long screw driver to try and push the latch while lifting the corner of the bonnet up but that didnt work. Any one have any iideas. Im starting to wonder if ill ever get the car back on the road, meant to have the MOT tomorrow

I feel for you....I put my new front bumper on and my fmic at the same time, got it all back on and was quietly happy with the work I had done and the exact same thing had happened to me - i couldnt bloody work out what I had done wrong but fortunately for me the white box was infront of the intercooler so with some scrapped knuckles I got the bonnet opened and had to remount the intercooler...with the box in the right place lol - well done mate!

I just had to re-feed the cables through the cut out sections on the white box, then cable tied it to part of the chassis (well out of the way of the intercooler) and then gave the cable under the steering a tug to make sure it released the bonnet and it was right as rain....not sure if this helps
